Somebody had to do it. I just hope nobody did it before. ^_^6
I absolutely love this movie. In fact, I watched again (I own it) tonight to give me inspiration and motivation to actually do my homework, since it cheers me up so. :D
I was so happy when I heard my university was going to perform the original stage version, only to be saddened when they decided to do Little Shop of Horrors instead.
I bought all that Scott toilet paper, too! Damn. :(
Oh, well, I'm transferring anyway. Maybe I can convince my new university to do it instead.
But anyway, what do you think of this movie? I (very much unfortunately) haven't seen the stage version or the late-night theatre version with all the props. I've done the props with others in a private viewing of it, but it's not the same.
Riff Raff and Magenta are my favorite characters, though I love Eddie because Meat Loaf is awesome.

A long long time ago...like 19 years...I used to regularly attend the midnight showings of RHPS at the local movie theater. Even played a part on occasion (Rocky) and even once got a tip :)
It was a really cool time, and I had a big crush on the girl who played Janet...especially since she made a point of leaving me, um, hot and bothered, after the Toucha Toucha scene.
Every so often I find myself singing some of the songs from the show... ~\o I was just seven hours old...~\o
Cheers!

RHPS is amazingly brilliant. I have yet to go to a midnight showing, but I will soon.

Anybody know where some showings are in PA?
And we need a Rocky Horror quiz. I wonder who'd I be-- probably Magenta. :innocent:
Heh, I'm watching the movie right now. Again. :D
I've watched it, it was OK, not in my generation though. (I'm 17, and only the artsies watch this)

Great movie. Riff Raff is by far the best character.
I've watched it, it was OK, not in my generation though. (I'm 17, and only the artsies watch this)
Only the artsies? Find a theatre that plays it, and wait for the show to let out. Half of the people that come out of the theatre will be drunks, high school kids, or other lower forms of dipshit.

I LOVE RHPS! Tim Curry was hot in his day, even as a sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania....

Went to see it twice at my school. I know the guy who puts them on. He's an awsome guy and did Japanese class with me up till Japanese 5. And he has an awsome motorcycle. ANYWAY.
I went twice. The first time I was a freshman and it was totally a unique experience for me. I loved it. The second time it was lamer because I already saw it and I hate how the group that does it here literally talks over almost all the dialogue in the movie. It's pretty lame and I don't find most of it funny. So I've never seen the movie without people talking over it. I love how people dress up as skanks to see it. Men/women/whatever. It's just a blast and fun as hell. I probably wont' see it again any time soon, though.

I LOVE. It is always fun to show it to Japanese people to see their reactions...

I love The RHPS, my brother is really into musicals and is thus my influence. He owns the video and took part in all the fun stuff. I first saw it when I was like 7 years old, a VERY different experience from someone who watches Power Rangers and Captain Planet for entertainment. And Riff Raff is indeed the BEST character there, but Janet was so hot
edit: I just realised the acronym for Rocky Horror Picture Show is the same for my primary school Rooty Hill Primary School....Awesome

Funny little side thing I found out...
Remember Russell Crowe? The Gladiator dude? Yeah, well, guess what-- he played in an Australian stage version as Eddie.
There's proof! In fact, this site has pictures...

It's at the very bottom. Or, if you're just to lazy, I attached one of the pics (there's two in one.)
:D
Can you imagine him singing "Hot Patootie"? Oh, boy...

Ooh I LOVE RHPS! So brilliant.
In high school, we did the time warp scene at a talent show, and I got to be Columbia and had a tap dancing solo (cuz I was the only one out of my group of friends who knew how to dance) and it was really fun! We got the audience to do the time warp with us. We didn't win, but it was still awesome. I was petitioning hard to get to do RHPS as our Senior Play, but the school was like, "uhh, no way."

I am what is considered a seasoned RHPS veteran. I attended the midnight showings at my local theater for about 3 years straight and then off and on from there. RHPS the movie is ok, it's not a great movie but it is definately interesting. Now the culture that surrounds the movie is where my interest lies. Typically speaking, there is no real outlet for the sexually repressed computer gamer out there quite like the RHPS. For the most part, you can go there and feel as if you are among bretherin instead of the odd man out. I can personnally attest that RHPS made me more tolerant to people of alternate sexualities, losing my virginity, a excellent springboard into dating, and a wonderful testing ground to identify with myself.
Basically speaking there are usually about 30-45 die hard fans, the rest are made up of Rocky virgins who have heard about it and want to give it a try. In this way you are able to take on any persona or behavior and see how it works out in real life without fear of rejection. If it doesn't work you simply go back next week and try something different. By doing so I became more comfortable and have a much more outgoing personality. As for actually taking part as one of the characters it is fun, but for the most part you get to experience far more drama than could actually be considered fun.
As for how many times I have actually watched the movie I have lost count. I know it is over 100 times and I know I cannot sit through the whole movie anymore. I have not gone to a showing in over 3 years now and I'm not really finding myself missing it too much.

You are my hero. :D
I really want to see a midnight showing of it sometime before I die. If it had the callbacks and the whole shebang, that would be ten times as awesome.
