Saw that early, it is rather sexy! XD

I'm glad they made the outfit like that rather than dark black with a white spider symbol on it like the comics have. This looks a lot better.

Somebody on superherohype claimed that he has a friend at Sony. Apparently, to fuel fan speculation, they deliberately fuzzed up the reflection in the eye. I've heard that they've had reflections for the last two movie that showed the villian. His friend passed on a copy of the unaltered eye portion (i.e., no fuzziness). Even still, it's hard to see, so I blew it up and inverted the colors. Apparently, it's Venom. I compared a blow-up of the eye in the fuzzy version, and the few visible lines in that one match up to the cleared up Venom pic.

Here's the blown up and inverted image I did earlier: http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/3540/venom5vj.jpg

I'm hoping it really is the venom story (that could create at least another 2 movies and everything).

But, I just got a horrible idea that it MIGHT just be the "armored spider" costume. It's still badass, but the venom storyline is IMO the best of Spiderman stories

Venom is in the cast. imdb has him listed. Played by....yep! Topher Grace. :boggled:

I like the idea of casting Topher Grace as Venom- it is the ultimate nerd fight, him against Tobey McGuire.

Apparently Sam Raimi hates Venom as a character, and is taking some sort of grace to make him a nerd instead of some buff guy. He wanted Parker and Venom's character to be nerdy looking guys...something about they're the same in real life yadda yadda blah blah then they turn into superheros and destory each other. Who knows.

I just hope Sam Raimi is thinking straight. He had a fallout with Danny Elfman, the composer, and Elfman is a guy willing to work with demanding directors like Tim Burton.

And I'm one person who doesn't think Spider-Man is all that. For comic book adaptation, it's good, but we are setting the bar too low. I'm rather excited about new Batman films, given it will be as good as Batman Begins.

Not to mention that I believe Topher Grace would've been a better Peter Parker than Tobey McGuire.

Topher has been playing a nerdy kid in That 70's Show for past few years, and he embodies it perfectly. Not to mention I believe Topher Grace is a better actor than Tobey, especially with his sense of humor.

Peter Parker is just a nerdy wisecrack who happened to gain super powers. That sense of humor has been largely absent in the first film, and not nearly enough of it in the second film.

What I hate about the Spider-man movies is the Raimi treats him as a complete schmuck. In Amazing Spider-man, he looked like a nerd for maybe 3 issues. When getting bashed on by Flash and his gang, he gave as well as he got. He also got in a boxing match with Flash and knocked him out cold. He had his Spider-powers at the time, but he was deliberately holding them back (admittedly, he got distracted by a supervillian or criminal and hit Flash a bit too hard by accident). He was also quite the ladies man. Betty Brant, Liz Allen (at the time Flash's girlfriend!), Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson chased him, as opposed to the otherway arround.

Spider-man also isn't the everyman some people claim; he's a genius. He's made multiple types of webbing, insulated webbing, webbing which disrupted Doc Ocks mental control over his arms, etc. He's RELATABLE, where he has real life problems such as rent, issues with his Aunt's health and so on.

I am about to show my true geeky colors, but whatever.

I highly doubt that's the venom suit. In fact I am praying that's not the venom suit.

The way I understand, is that when Peter Parker gets the suit with the virus/orginism/whatever whatever. The suit is all black, with a smooth texture, and a different symbol on the front.

Then Venom is the fusion of Eddie Brock and that suit.

Here (http://www.samruby.com/History/history_of_spiderman4.htm) is some stuff that can explain better than I can. (With pictures!)

That picture looks like the regular suit in a monochromatic picture.

Either way, I relly hope Venom makes his appearance. I know Sandman is supposed to be there.

If Venom is in 3, I hope Carnage shows up in 4.

Has anyone been watching Spiderman on the Disney Channel at 10:30? My boyfriend and I have been missing it and watching DBZ.

I missed the X-men cross-over. *Sigh*

We don't even know if they will make Spider-Man 4 yet! Of course, with its ridiculous box office earnings, unless Spider-Man 3 becomes like the Joel Schumacher's Batman, there will be the fourth one.

Carnage. If they want to keep Spider-Man movies PG-13, I doubt they will, or if they try to keep it tame, then they won't do justice for Carnage. I'd say the more logical thing would be the eventual rise of Hobgoblin. James Franco is a talented actor, but I don't think we've seen the best of him in Spider-Man movies yet.

I just hope they kill Mary Jane. As much as Kristen Dunst is cute, I always thought she made a horrible Mary Jane.

Man... if they don't do Carnage, I'm going to be pissed. -____-; I've been waiting since '01 for Carnage to come out ;_; I remember when I bought the first issue of Ultimate Spiderman, it had an article about the new movie coming out, I asked my mom if we could see it the day it came out (this was about a year before it came out) and she was like "Sure... >_>; "

Carnage can do well, if they talk about his murderings, they don't need to show it. Just let the audience know he's a psychopath and blahblahblah.
What's funny, is even though Carnage is my favorite villain, I've never actually read any of the comics he's been in :(

On November 5, 2005 Thomas Haden Church was officially cast as the villain Sandman along with the first image from Spider-Man 3.

Wikipedia isn't exactly reliable.. I heard that Kirstin Dunst confirmed that Topher Grace (That 70's Show) is going to play Eddie Brock. Maybe it will just pave the way for Venom?

If they don't put Venom in this one, I'll be surprised. He's one of the most popular villians.

I cleaned that image up a bit, and I think you'll all be surprised with the results. (http://i1.tinypic.com/opbsxs.jpg)

On the poster itself... bah. I could see it before I saw it. I'm all for minimalism, but "3" ooooooh, so cool. I guess it's 'cause, y'know, it's the only way to tell it from the other movies.

I don't know what I'd do, though, so I suppose I should shut up about it.
Certainly something more interesting... maybe a different movie...

I dunno, I liked the movies. Mindless popcorn fun. But I never really liked Spiderman that much.
And that poster shows perfectly how that poor college student somehow managed to make a costume that looks like it cost about a hundred thousand dollars.

I’ll shut up now.

It's basically confirmed it's Sandman and Venom, so...

Firefly

As I Saitou just said and I said earlier...

Sandman and Venom have been cast.

And afaik Toby McGuire was only officially singed for 3 movies. Same with Kirstin I believe. So, there will only be a Spider man 4 if they're signed.

Firefly

Here is a better example:

http://spiderman.sonypictures.com/

"Look closely, Spiderman wears a black suit in Spider Man 3"

...If this follows the comics, the first simbiote entered Spiderman after leaving Eddie because Eddie was weak. Thus, the Black outfit. Spiderman got rid of it and it went back to Eddie. The black outfit is supposidly symbolic of Venom and Spiderman merging...

"We have really great people though as the villains in this film, Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace -- Venom and Sandman," says Kirsten Dunst while promoting her film "Elizabethtown."

"Maybe I wasn't supposed to say that," she says, checking with her rep, who assures her the information has already been released.

Hmm Dr. Conner...... Is he the Crocodile guy? lol, I forgot his name.

And I thought Spiderman's alternative costume was red and black not all black like the poster shows. But oh well, all black is pretty cool too I guess.

Maybe.

Should be a good film though, the Venom/Carnage thing was my favourite too.
Sounds like there are a load of bad guys in this film o_o;
