Well, I got early acceptance into University of Waterloo for Computer Science Co-op, not gonna accept yet, because I also applied for math and business double degree, 2 bachelors for my time :)

I chose BCS instead of Bmath.

congrats~

Right now, and I still have a year to go, all I'm worried about is what Japanese program(like JET) will accept me after I graduate. I don't really want to be stuck with Nova. Heh. Grad school is an awsome time, I heard. Not sure which is funner: university or grad school.

Some would argue that the best times are in High school.

Man I hated High School, but I did have some fun times there too that I can't neglect. Education overall is wonderful for most people : ).

Heh, my high school is the only non semstered one around, talk about having to juggle 8 courses at once at an elite school. I have grey hairs aplenty.

Yeah, for comp sciences and certain maths progs. I got into Windsor, but I don't want to go there (guess), and I also got into Mac, but as a part-time student. 1: I applied as a full-time, and 2: I don't know what pat-time student eve is.
Hopefully, i get into UT, that way I can stay home, save 10 k.

UT Engineering Science, I'm not sure if I"m "elite" enough for that program. But I applied anyway.

I'm disappointed Mac hasn't accepted me yet, but they're touchy about being on the bottom of my list, sent me an email about it.

yea, UW was rated number 1 comprehensive universities. But it all depends on major.

Of course, unless the university states otherwise. Unless it's seriously trying to cheat you of money, they'll let you know at which point you're obligated to stay/pay tuition at their institution.

Yes, but the first one will be invalid, and if you want to accept the first again, you will have to contact the uni yourself. This is how it works on OUAC.

And Kellishaver, congrats :) have fun

I forced the sixth graders at one of my schools to make nanaimo bars! Which they all pronounced as nana imo (seven potato) bars! How can anyone from Canada not know what a nanaimo bar is???? It's aboot as Canadian as poutine, eh?

Note: I never heard of Alberta ginger beef until last month.

High school was, academically, the best time of my life. There's no such thing as having straight A's and a social life at university. It gets to that point when you're like "C+! I'M AWESOME! What'd you get? C-? YOU'RE AWESOME TOO!! What'd Tony get? A-? He cheated."

I'm so glad I'm done with the application process for at least...another year and a half. Maybe I'll marry incredibly rich between now and then and I won't have to deal with it at all!

I got into some good schools and was offered merit based scholarships.

The hard part is deciding which one to go to. :(

Do I want to major in business or shoot for either law or medical school?

Is it possible for me to major in business and be prepared for law school? Or is it better to go to the school that would offer a more liberal education and better prepare me?

I remember getting my first college acceptance: BIG relief. You're just happy you got in somewhere rather than no where and it takes a whole lotta pressure off you.

congrats

I get swamped with university letters every day, kind of annoying but nice at the same time.

Been offered a scholarship too but I doubt I'll be going this year (if at all). I wasn't a big fan of high school or college though and I doubt this will be much different, plus I want to travel. Now.

Hehe, everything is done online here. My friend just left for england to check out the universities. She's gonna be going there for university.

They do send you those huge packages, which are a bitch to get out when they jam it in your damned small mailbox.

College is infinitely better than high school. I hated high school for the most part...college, I love.

I suppose it is a lot better than high school, I just want to go and travel and college is holding me back.

Do you think that if you decide not to go and travel your gonna end up not going?

I mean you could go abroad while in college.

Traveling around after high school ain't cheap either.

That's fair, just don't try to act all cool and shit when you are 25 and hanging out with 17 year old freshmen.

Kidding!

I know a dude who is the same year as me, yet he's older than my older brother (they were born in the same year) and my older brother graduated already...AND MY BROTHER GRADUATED LATE MIND YOU.

Hmm, I'm 21, lol, starting my first year of uni. Or rather, re-entering my first year. After 2 years absence.
It really does suck being older than most people, although there are people significantly older than me. It still sucks though, knowing that all the girls are off-limits (according to my morals and such, I usually don't allow myself to date younger people, since my bro is only one year younger than me, and anyone younger than me is my bro's territory, and ew.)

Well, there are senior citizens who actually register and take some courses, so it could be a lot worse. At least the they don't try to booze girls up and you know...

I'm 22, and by the time I graduate I'm gonna be an old graduate, probably 24-25. But still, it could've been a lot worse.

paul
02-24-2006, 03:02 AM
nice :)

I dunno if I'll be going into computer science, it seems a waste of my grades. I could get into probably anything else. CS is my safety net. Still waiting for scholarships, which will depend on several major math/programming contests that are on the way. CCC (http://contest-cemc.uwaterloo.ca/ccc/past/previous_contests.shtml) stage 1 tuesday, yay. >_< I hope I could do really well on it, dunno its different every year and the cutoffs change too.

Also I'm required to write the Euclid (http://www.cmc.uwaterloo.ca/english/contests/euclid.shtml). :( gotta start preparing for that.

Currently refreshing my memory on efficient prime number finding, pathfinding, useful recursive functions and gotta learn to use vectors instead of arrays >_<
