The next time you get back to the US, and just so happen to make it to Dallas, dinner at Fogo De Chao is on me. It is a such a place where one can gorge themselves upon an endless feast of over a dozen different cuts of cattle. (The place is modeled after a Brazillian steak house.) The waiters wander about with a hefty skewer of a particular cut of beef, saunter up to your table and ask if you want some of the ---. They carve it on to your plate. It is fresh off the roasting spit. $65/head for dinner (before drinks of course), all you can eat. Oh crap, if anyone in Tokyo learns of this, Hawaii will become a desolate wasteland as all the tourists will come here instead. :)
The only control one has is a cardboard token on their table. One side is red, one is green. If green is facing up, the waiters will come to you to carve more meat on to your plate. If it is red, they will leave you alone.
Filet Mignon, Sirloin top cut, bottom cut, cheese-encrusted pork or chicken, garlic beef, and god knows what the speciality is that day.
The place is truely designed to give Texans an early death by cholesterol induced heart attack.
The place is fairly popular, in fact, there's at least 3 knock-off's in business now. (1 within a block of the place.)
I proffer this invite as thanks for the wonderful entertainment I have had reading the editorials.
Beats ramen.

I've been to a restaurant like that in NY. It's waaaaay too much eating for me. A great experience though. I think the name of the restaurant is Braseiro.

Maybe, but first of all Kobe Steaks is right down the road. Second of all there's no ramen houses in Dallas. (If that's changed don't hold out. I haven't lived there in a while.)

Only in Texas would the phrase "death by steak" be considered feasible.
I would know, I've been to Texas, and the amount of good steak places they have there is astonishing.

Agreed. When I was in Galveston, a friend's father made BBQ Brisket for me. It was the best beef I had ever had up until that time.

I'm kind of bitter that the rest of us aren't invited. I like steak too. Show some love for the rest of us!

There's a Fogo de Chao in Los Angeles off La Cienega. No reason to go all the way to Texas for it. In fact I spent 20 years in Dallas. I really wouldn't recommend anyone go there at all. Austin is a much better place to visit.

Yeah, I figured that out the hard way. I went to Dallas for a Do As Infinity concert. I don't think I'll ever go back.
But you know I just wanted the invite. Haha... It's just nice to feel wanted every now and then...

The reason why the rest aren't included is that it's only for exclusive VIP people. Forgot the community, am I right?
No. It'd be costly for him too if he invited ALL of us. Unless you want to go Dutch :o
Anyway, that sounds like a real plan of some sort.

Sounds like fun! I'd want to go, but:
1) I have no excuse to go to Dallas, and
2) I'm a vegetarian.

I think they hang you for that in Texas.

And that's different from getting mugged by a guy in coveralls because I visited ISU and stepped off the campus grounds how? :)

True. I am not exactly overflowing with an enormous quantity of liquid funds to host such event for the entire community. (I am not the red cross, I can't feed everyone.)

Hahahahaha!
I know some people who'd love to have gone
