Hi, i just bought a dvd burner recently and i have had the hardest time getting anything to burn properly. I have tons of anime that I downloaded from the net and I cannot seem to find the proper program to burn them. I will check back here to see any and all help that anyone is willing to give me. Thanks IN advance.

Ya, I use Nero for DvD burning as well.

Though I use Alcohol 120% on occasion for burning iso's and junk.

Yes, Nero is my favorite for just burning anything... DVD's included. Alcohol 120 I use for burning iso's of all kinds, and DVD Decrypter burns movie DVD images very well and is free.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot Alcohol. That's better for cracking write-protected shit.

(Note to everyone: Grab yourselves a copy of ISObuster if you need to crack write protection)

If you want to write data just use NEro, if you want to make actual dvd movies use intervideo windvd creator 2. it's quite fast at encoding and i havent had much sound problems with it

I've been using WinDVD Creator for years, too. Well, not me personally, but through a mate of mine with all the tricks and gadgets. It's very cool.

DON'T FORGET DVDSHRINK

I personally have found that others on the internet are good at what they do, and can set up a DVD far better than I can. I am also too busy with other things to try to learn, so I just download what they've already done, which is set up menus and things like that, and put it in a nice neat ISO. If I'm simply burning data then it's Nero, or Windows XP's built in burning capability.

Ok, ive got a version of nero now, but like all other programs im not seeing the begin all end all of its greatness. I have anime in files such as .avi, .mpg , .wmv, .ogg. and .ogm. I have no clue what filetypes dvd players are capable of playing but im pretty sure there is a way to burn it onto a dvd and play it on a dvd player. I know someone here has to have done conversion of files to play on dvd players.

Unless you get a program to do it all for you, you're going to have to convert the video to DVD level mpeg2. Then Nero can burn those to DVD for you without trouble. Some DVD players now can play xvid and divx, in which case burn them as data. There are programs to easily point and click to convert all of the files you mentioned to DVD res mpeg2.

Also many can play VCD and SVCD. That means you can burn them to plain CD's and your DVD will play them, but without the benefit of not having to change discs during long movies. Those are in mpg as well but need to be formatted for VCD and SVCD. Chances are, some of your mpgs are already formatted for VCD or SVCD, maybe even all of them.

Hello,

If you wish to burn ISO to disc I suppose you try Active@ ISO Burner utility. This freeware small tool is very relaible and easy to use.

omfg spam. Though, I'll give you credit, you ARE spamming an already existing (ancient) thread.

Holy thread from the dead Batman!

I doubt that that spam is enough to lock it...but IN BEFORE LOCK, just in case. ;)

I guess I'll pointlessly address this topic: I'm a fan of imgburn and alcohol 120%. Nero's good but it installs way too much crap for my tastes.

I'm going to give that link the benefit of the doubt, there is freeware on that page. But fish could have learned how to walk in the time between posts here D:

For the topic, Imgburn is what I use. ;) Yay freeware that works! It even checks over the newly burnt CD-R afterwards to make sure it came out alright. I've been using it to back up .iso's on my harddrive and clear up space.
