Some fucking idiot here is bumping threads that have dropped of too a few pages back or haven't had a reply in a week or two.
Its fucking annoying and makes current decent threads drop away.
I wish the fucking idiot would stop doing it.
Should be a rule or something.

I am feeling opinionated today, and given enough time would have bumped back all the current posts and let the other ones languish again. But some of these current whiney ones have been annoying the hell out of me anyway.

Popculturepooka. Yes the mods are rarely around. I myself have a job. I usually spend some time every day on the op9 boards, but not every waking moment. So it's quite easy to miss something. That's why there are those little 'report a post' buttons for members that like to give us a little hand now and then.
Bumping old threads is not in conflict with any rules, and this is the first time i heard anyone complain about it on this board. Maybe it's easier to just PM a mod directly about this, he or she can discuss it with the other mods, and maybe a bill will be turned into a law. That's way more effective then making a thread about it that might be more easily missed by a mod. And besides, this thread might be bumped in a month aggrevating you even more.
Although i'm relatively new at this modding gig i think it's no excuse for being to active or passive. My personal belief is that mods are there to step in when stuff is getting out of hand, and not hold the forum member's hands. If you guys don't let me know somethings wrong i can only go on my own experience.
So, do you want me to be on your ass all the time? edit every little post that rubs your hairs in the wrong direction? Banninate every member that bumps an old thread? You'd be calling me 'overactive' then wouldn't you?
And besides, if an old thread has any worth discussing in, it deserves to be on top, if it's not interesting to anyone else, it will sink fast enough. If the bumping consists of spam, we'll act on it

Meneer, my comment that the mods weren't around much was just that. Commenting that you weren't around much. It was not meant to be an insult or a swipe at you guys at all.
What Bubbles was doing would constitute as spam. Basically she must not have logged on in a week, used "new Posts" function and made a comment on EVERY SINGLE POST. Even ones that had no replies at all, 1 post threads from a week ago. When you come here ready to make a comment on a topic that was top of page 1 thirty minutes ago and is now the bottom of page 4, its exceedingly annoying. Most of those threads she bumped did not need to be bumped. And her comments were spammy, so spammy in fact taht even my little cupcake, Jay-man, made a comment about one.
Come on now, '...You bitch' is a comment worth bumping a dead thread for?
However I understand that thread bumping spam like what Bubbles did is exeptionally hard to mod. You actually have to go into each thread and delte each post. I've had to do it before on a huge board invasion from a bunch of CS geeks. Gahk...
Like I said, not a slight at you with my comment. It was answering another guys question about mods.
If I had an issue with you mods, you'd know it.
