Now, I can go get my passport. I will need my passport in December - so that I can get to Thailand for three weeks of diving, drinking, and hanging out with my brother.
So, I called my brother on his birthday (back in June). I am a good brother like that. Well, somewhere during the discussion of Grandma, the old folks home, our crazy aunt, and other family related items, my brother comes out of nowhere with. . .
"Hey man, wanna go to Thailand for Christmas?"
Now, I have done my fair share of travelling through Europe and some in Mexico, but as of yet, I have not experienced any of Eastern or Southeast Asia. So, my brother's proposition certainly caught my interest. There's really only one problem. . . I'm pretty freakin' frugal. I don't like to spend thousands of dollars on anything. Another potential stumbling block is the fact that I am still supporting my ex (my "baby momma") - who has yet to find lasting gainful employment in the year+ that we have been apart.
So, I mull all of this over for a few seconds and tell my brother that I probably won't have the funds to devote to the trip that I would want. Well, my brother immediately says. . .
"I'll pay for your plane ticket and your diving."
God, I love my brother. Now, I have enrolled in a scuba class at a local college. I will be certified by the time we leave. I will be saving my monthly GI Bill check to pay for lodgings and food for 3 weeks. YAY!
