View Full Version : anyone know a good site that has romanji to kanji?
one that doesn't require software? so for example if i type in the romanji for subarashii for example, it will give the the kanji of it and show which parts kanji and hiragana.
since I dont have the software, it would have to use jpegs etc.
so yeah, if anyone knows a good site pm me or post it here please.
(obvouisly don't have a kanji dictionary).

If you plan on using Japanese text a lot, you'd probably be better off trying to track down a CD for your OS so you can use the Microsoft IME. None of your friends have it?

I guess i should look harder for one. it is a pain the butt sometimes too.
but sadly none of my immediate freinds(the ones i see on a regular basis) have the same one I do. I still have the cd key too.
*sigh*
I'll just have to wait for class and ask the tutor to write them down for me so I can study off of them, oh well.

JWPCE. It's a writing program that lets you type the words in romaji, having it automatically go to kana, where you can plug it in for Kanji via dictionary included. It's what I use from time to time.

In WinXP, I have Japanese as my default input locale. I can type normally, but when I hit alt + ~, it goes into hiragana input. Easy.

Same, only I the JWPCE saved my ass when I had some language troubles for input. I haven't used it in a while however.

I remember finding a java applet that converted romaji to kana. I tried looking for it again once at school, but I couldn’t find it. I ended up just bringing a 2000 disc to school and installing the IME. Heh.

I'll ask my friend Kanami, she's always trying to confuse me with all of those. I'm sure she's called me every insult a sweet Japanese girl can.
Good luck with starting up school again :D
