This thread is the discussion of what condidtion you think a mans face should be in. Specifically, whether or not they should be shaved. Fuzzy or smooth. Rough or shiny. THE CHOICE IS YOURS! BUT CHOOSE WISELY, OR DEATH MAY AWAIT YOU WITH BIG, POINTY TEETH.

A few years ago I used to think it should always be clean shaven, then I compromised with slight stubble on the chin.
Now, while I still hold to shaving, I cannot handle a completely clean face. It's so (SEXISM ALERT!!!) Womanish. Sorry! But I really don't want to be smooth, aerodynamic or slick. Otherwise I'd laser all my body hair and walk around in a latex bodysuit slicked with baby oil. And as you know, I haven't lasered my hair off.
I understand all the arguments for and against, but it's just that recently I have noticed a sort of merging of male and female. Not in terms of equality, which is good (as in women and emn should be treated equally et al), but in terms of physicality. They sort of look the same. Sometimes it's hot, but sometimes it's not. And I need some scruff, it helps with the cold, and makes me look way meaner than i actually am.
I prefer a slight to moderate stubble, but anything more is cause for some hardcorosity. My father has a long beard, he totally owns all. But my uncle shaves literally three times a day, and he's pretty nice too. It's been proven that facial hair has nothing to do with hygiene, yet people still cling to the belief that it does, just like circumcision.Being clean shaven is just another characteristic of the society we live in today, just like a thousands years ago a man was laughed out of the nation if he had no beard and a woman if she had no temper.
I'm bored already of trying to justify myself.

I go with clean shaven. In my case facial hair makes me look dorky (don't know many Asians who can pull off the rugged facial hair look).

From a girls point of veiw, I like goatees (sp?) on a lot of guys... NO mustaches... It hurts when you kiss them.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I like having a little bit of a goatee, or a little stubble all around. But my facial hair doesn't grow too far out, most of the growth being on the mustache and chin. <shrug>

this is a problem for me, i usually have like a days groth just because even when i shave against the grain for a close shave i have remnants that just wont go. i find that i look too much like my dad with facial hair so i try and shave everyday and if i have a gf i have to shave twice aday because it grows that bloody fast!

I like goatees, and depending on the face maybe a small moustache. Nothing bushy though, trimmed and shaped well is nice. :P

I'm also not a fan of massive sideburns.

It depends on the guy for me. Some guys look hot with facial hair and some don't. But like Neko kinda said, it's harder to kiss a rough face.

I don't have a choice. My facial hair doesn't grow more than a half a centimetre. Even then, if I decide to let it grow, it's really dirty and patchy. So, clean shaven.

Good thing, I guess. Full-on wino beards are gross.

I prefer a guy with a bit of a stubble. Clean-shaven is okay, but boring. I like the look of a goatee, but it just doesn't have the same effect. When the rough texture hits that one spot on my neck.....*melts* :joytear:

I keep my facial hair for the same reason as druid; it makes me look way too young to be clean-shaven. I'm not a huge fan of moustaches and my girlfriend hates stubble, so I keep my upper lip shaved and the rest a few mm long. Although I don't like it much, I remain clean-shaven in Japan.

my gf would second that...i usually have a van dyke (goatee w/o mustache)...i shave when i feel like it...usually when it gets to that 'itchy' point...sometimes it's all shaved...except for the sideburns...long live the king...

I shave because my chin itches when it doesn't, just like when I scratch my uncut hair for purely hygienic reasons.

I myself follow a couple of rules. I shave clean when I want to look prompt or have a shadow for other interests.

I like the clean look on guys. I find that when asian guys dont shave, they just look older, dirty and more perferted. HAHA!

But from late teens on, it depends on the person.

Myself I either am smooth or unshaven depending on mood and current social... movements.

If I have a few days off and nothing to do I shall look like a bum.

cant stand having facial hair, before the thing even grows I get annoyed with the stubbles and shave it off.
