Hmmhmm, guess I'll introduce myself.

I respond to DQ better than I do to my real name and my friends are continually appalled/amused to no end/amazed at my pervyness (I'll fit in nicely, ne? ^_~). I know snippets of a few different languages and enjoy creating new compound words for English. I've been fencing for a year and a half and love it immensely. I go to an art school for writing and love that immensely as well. Ahyes, I've also been lurking for a while until I got really bored and decided to register.

I'll also be more interesting once I've either gotten sleep or have stayed up more; I'm kind of in a... dead-ish period right now. -_-;;

I am a 15 year old turning 16 rather soon, which means anybody without a death wish with-in 48 Miles of Lincoln ( THIS INCLUDES OMAHA :-P ) get the hell off te road :-).

I like to use smilies a lot, some which are rather dorky. Like ><, >>, <<, ^^, ^_^, etc.

I'm highly interested in the Armed Forces, but besides that I like to do other things like read stuff on Outpost Nine's website ( I do not know if there is such a term yet, but I am an Azo-Phile now ), and I like to work on Computers and well...play games.

I'm Italian and German, but also a heavy trace of Quebecois ( I was schooled by an 11 year old Ontarion who got mad at me for saying Quebecer on another forum I visit frequently ), and a slightly smaller trace of Irish, and barely any Scottish-English-Cherokee.

So that is me so far...what else?

I like Football, although I have never been too serious with playing the sport. I'm not a nut but I'm crazy enough to stay and watch the whole game if we are losing horribly ( which many know that the Cornhuskers do pretty well at that now-adays ).

Other things I DO like to do is...ohh...post on forums like these, do some LARP on the side ( if you know what LARP means then welcome Brothers/Sisters...to the Enclave of Dorkdom ) and some Text RPs ( hint - that other forum I brought up about the Quebecois thing...:-P ).

As far as games go...I currently play AOE3 ( Age of Empires III ) and UT2004 ( Unreal Tournament 2004 ) and RoseONLINE ( Started like a week ago...I'm surprised how fun it can be ).

So yea, I guess that is about it.

For anyone who is also Military oriented, I am interested in both Force Recon ( in the USMC ) and the Army Airborne.

College Insomnia? I've had mine since about age 15 and sleeping pills that aren't trancs don't work on me. Current record for wakefullness is 76 hours or something, definitely not fun.

I'm originally from Japan :japan: (mixed blood with taiwanese, so other than Japanese, I can also speak Mandarin--not perfect but ok-enough). I came to LA when I was 13 and have been here ever since. I love LA.

I came across Az's "Japanese Teacher" editorial from some other site and found it really hilarious. I think I found it when it was still his first year in that editorial.

I plan to go back to Japan and teach English (junior high and/or high school) after graduating from a university in the U.S. My hope is that I can get more kids to be* interested in English (instead of having that "Oh, I live in Japan and won't need English for the rest of my life :box: " thinking), even foreign cultures and other languages.
*(...and yeah,) less Engrish speakers. :duh:

Um well...Hi, I'm Chris aka Xenolith (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenolith).


As you may have guessed from my 'tar I'm a Bleach watcher. Dicovered it a while ago on winamp, and as it was the first anime that did not totally confuse me and had actual characters with depth (in my opinion), I decided to hang in there with it. I've not regretted it. I have since shared it with my 13 yr old neice who is now totally bonkers for it.

I'm thinking of doing the overseas thing too, although i have limited choices as I do not have a degree in anything but WTF! aka life skills, beer consumtion and "DANG! I'd buy that for a dollar!".

I'm thinking of China because i have a friend there that is very cool and will help me stave off suicide. Lower pay but I lead a simple life anyway, aslong as I have sandwiches and beer I'm content. Ofcourse I will concider other places too depending on the oportunities. i'm not running to anything like some, I'm just looking for general adventure and to learn some new shit. 4 out of 5 teachers agree, learning r0x0rs...the 5th doesn't get paid enough to give a shit.


Note to Az:

Bitchin blog man! Provided many an insite and chuckle. Also, had I not read it I'd have never known about Gaijin Superpowers and that I should watch for the signs of thier development and nurture them with a vengance. I'm sure they'd be needed in many Pacific Rim countries.

I found this place through my room mate. Since I was thinking of doing JET after college (class of 08), I decided to read it, and here I am.

I'm a 21 year old student at a University of California(one of the lesser ones. Lets just say auto mechnic majors at community colleges back in the OC laugh at me because of where it is, even though it's a world class research university), majoring in Archeology. I lived Kobe, Japan from when I was 5 to 12, and have lived mostly Huntington Beach, one of the cities in the now infamous Orange County. Screw you Fox.

I'm thinking JET, mostly to escape the real world for a year or two while getting paid decently for a new college grad. My motivations are to "reconnect" with my mothers side. So any JET stories are always interesting and helpful.

Well, theres my 25 cent life story.

I'm 22, and just got accepted to JET as an ALT. I'll be in the UBER-COUNTRYSIDE, so I'm still trying to come to terms.

I guess that's about it. I know some Japanese, but am better at reading and writing than speaking. Which means what little skill I have will be essentially useless once I arrive in Japan.
