Got any one in the family that is/was in the big house?

I know one cousin who is in jail for something drug related and another who was in jail , but now has a family/job/etc.

My uncle's been intitutionalized in one way shape or form since he was 12... every time he gets out now he just goes and tries to get thrown back in, hehe :D I've only gotten to meet him 2 or 3 times, but he seems like a fun guy XD

No family in lock up..

My family is fucked up, and some come close enough to being "locked up."

My dad was nearly sent to jail when he came into my mom's house while waving a gun around. He was threatening my stepdad to go back to where he came from or him and his "biker buddies" would kill him. He was very drunk.. He ended up just getting community service, and that's only because my stepdad asked for them not to send him to jail. (He would have got one year.)

My cousin's wife was in a "different" type of lock up.. Last year my cousin died, shot in the head, it was ruled an accident.. And that was only to calm the family who were thinking it could have been another suicide (My other cousin committed suicide about 6 years ago.) Anyways, him and his wife had one kid, and one on the way. When the baby was born the kids were took away from her, my aunt was granted custody, and she was sent to rehab for meth. She actually got out a few months ago, but she never contacted anyone in the family about the kids, she just disappeared.. (She probably murdered my cousin.)

My mom's side... I have cousins who are criminals I believe. Never met them and my mom rarely talks about them so I barely know anything about them. I also think an aunt on my dad's side might have spent some time in jail or an institution for a crime as well. :/

My cousin, Aaren.

He had just graduated HS, where he'd been a tight end on the football team. He was going to college the following fall. Good guy, good student.

He befriended some guy and during that summer the guy tells him to stop at this gas station and for Aaren to wait in the car.

Then the guy proceeds to rob the store at gun point, runs back to Aaren and uses him as the get away.

My cousin had no priorers whatsoever and got 7 years. His youth is completely gone. I want to write him, but I have no idea what to say. I'm just so damn angry! Especially when people say "everyone in jail belongs there" fuck that and fuck you.

No, my family is completely clean.

EDIT:

Wait. Said that too fast.

My uncle got locked up for a few days for refusing military service (he was one of them true anarchists back in the day, a leader or lieutenant or whatever of a really popular nation-wide leftist youth grouping called the "Provo's". ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provo ) so he got "in trouble" a few times too. In the end though, the actions of the Provos really improved the country. They were never violent, or hurt people or whatever. They just provoke the police and armed forces a whole lot fr fun.

...And my other uncle was a rascal in his youth. Got in touch with the police a few times, but only for fun things. Like for example, placing a turd in ones front door, put a firecracker in it, and ring the bell. With a little bit of timing and luck, the turd exploded right in the unlucky door opener's face.

Both of these are now succesful. The Provo uncle is a teacher, the other owns a really well-running restaurant in Belgium.

My dad's side of the family were always troublemakers although very nice people so I'm some of them went to jail, probably not for too long though...

I was nearly put in jail for arguing with a police officer once...long story.

My step-sister spent some time in juvinal detention for theft when she was 17 and has ad many run-ins wiht the law before and after that. She's pretty much a loser. Since turning 18 a year and a half ago, she's managed to drop out of high school, get married, get divorced, get evicted from at least 3 places (that I know of... on8e for having known drug dealers in her apartment), and give birth to two kids which she then lost custody of (thank goodness). My dad and step-mom are raising her kids now.

I feel really bad for my step-mom. She's a wonderful person who's worked hard to provide a good life for her kids and raise them properly. Unfortunately, step-sis grew up to be just like her dad instead.

Uncle on my mother's side was in the Navy, and served in Vietnam...where he got himself adicted to drugs in a heavy way. He's been in and out of jails since for various crimes (possession or theft to fuel the adiction).

I lost track of the guy years ago.

Not that I know of.
The closest would be a friend's dad, who had to stay at the psychiatry for some time after running around naked.

as far as i know all my family is clean. mabe there is a case or 2 for some distant cousin doing jail time for some beurocratic crap in israelian army. ohh wait, my grand ancle(s) spent time in a soviet camp, but that was because he was a damn good scientist, there the science departement was in camps so the soviet gov. could have better control. the same person(s) had stuff with transpassing to be with thier families, that's because soviets are teritorial as fuck, you'd need a permit to live in a city and a permit to leave it or come back

My cousin has had a few DUIs and I think had a short jail sentence along with that.

No one in my immediate family has been in jail (That i know of!) but I did have a close call one time, I was hanging out with a bunch of friends and something just felt wrong, and I left, and within about 10 minutes after I left, the police showed up and everyone who was still there got arrested for possession.

I don't get why people are allowed to have "a few DUIs"

At the third one your driver's license should be revoked, forever.

My dad had his license took away for 10 years due to DUIs. He kept driving anyways, so sometimes taking it away doesn't do any good :/ He did stop drinking for the majority of that time period though, but still had to get to work somehow..

well the whole pont of a punishment is to deter the person from whatever in first place...frankly i don't how much people drink and how they behave in their own homes. what i do care about is what happends when i'm also around, and i do go outside my house(although it might seem that i don't, running excluded)
