I found this on a site I was browsing. If you want the link I'll post it.

The internet.

It allows experts from around the world to collaborate. It helps independent artists find their niche. It lets us shop and check the headlines in our bathrobes and bunny slippers. But mostly it's a gigantic porn cache.

I have friends still in college who are totally into porn. Their dorm rooms are the freaking Spanish Main of the online porn world. They spend twenty-plus hours a week surfing it, downloading it, trading it, and engaging in activities I'd rather not give much thought to while ogling it. A few weeks back, one of them emailed me with a request. Seems that the hard drive would start cranking away at odd times, crashing or lagging whatever programs they were running. Term papers were stifled. Everquest characters met grisly deaths. The smut flow was stymied. I had to do something.

This was pretty usual for me, so I had them drop their machine off to me at work, and promised to get back to them by the end of the day. I loaded one of our spare copies of Norton 2005 on to the machine, and ran a scan. It zipped the registry and found some spyware. Nothing big. Found a few low-grade hijackers in the System32 folder. Then it reached one of their image folders, and the hard drive started cranking away so hard that I swore black smoke was going to pour from the case. Files flew into the window; JPEG's, BMP's, MPG's, AVI's. Every single one infected, and when I saw the names of the files, I realized why.

If the college dorms were the Spanish Main, this guy had Black Bart's freaking treasure trove of porn. Porn arranged neatly into folders with names like: fat people, skinny people, teenagers, college students, parents, geriatrics, dead people, whites, blacks, asians, mexicans, albinos, midgets, amputees, homosexuals, kabuki, bisexuals, transvestites, shemales, fruit, vegetables, livestock, reptiles, fish, breasts (big and small and of various shapes and sizes,) lactation, nipples, nipple piercings, penises, phallic piercings, incest, testicles, buttocks, legs, shoes, socks, feet, toes, toe sucking, toe rings, toenails, toenail polish, sarcophagy, cancer, bodily excretions of all hues and varieties spent on all imaginable articles and body parts, schoolgirl outfits, leather, strangulation, explosions, injuries, sports mascots, sportswear, band uniforms, and cartoons. And it only got weirder from there. Folders had subfolders; there were cartoons/amputees/ and midgets/transexuals/bestiality/scat/diarrhea/autoerotic.

It's not like I was particularly surprised by the fact that my friend was hoarding pictures of quadriplegic Flinstones loving. He was a comp-sci major who had no girlfriend, worked in the college's computer lab, and was constantly chatting or gaming with his single comp sci buddies. I was more surprised that people made, and even profited off this stuff. A lot of the photos seemed to be watermarked and branded with their www's. Now, I'm not surprised someone would devote his or her time to shit-soaked transvestite midgets. As any of you who've seen the '97 documentary Trekkies can attest, people go for odd things. There's a band of women out there who devote their time to writing Spock/Kirk erotica. But in their case it's just writing – they probably pay the server costs out of pocket. They haven't actually hired Shatner and Nemoy to perform on webcam. What surprises me is that someone out there actually managed to find a midget transexual, convince them to suck donkey poo off their nipples on camera, and make enough money off of it to not only pay the mortgage, the electricity, and the midget, but to actually go out and do it again. And they're probably considered the leaders in their online industry.

It's great that these people probably make more money than I do. I respect that, and I respect their freedom to do everything but mess with an unwilling donkey. That's just wrong. Especially on Earth Day. But what the hell do they tell people. Let's say you make $65k a year running a crazy leper incest website (the incest is just a ploy to get hits; all lepers are at least 18 years of age and removed from one another by at least two generations.) You meet a member of the opposite/preferred gender in a bar. Do you tell them you're an artist? OK, let's imagine that, through the magic of online dating and cybernetic sex, that you actually meet someone who shares your interest – who loves you for the sick freak you are. So you tell her parents you're an artist. What do you say when the parents ask to see your work? Maybe they want something to hang in the foyer. All pornographers can't live in Amsterdam or Tortuga. How the fuck do they interact in ordinary society?

An alert window plunked on to my screen. Did I want Norton to attempt to repair the files? I considered the unique predicament. My friend had contracted a virus – an information-age STD – while engaging in questionable activities with other college boys. Would it be better to cure his digital herpes, or let him learn from the sores? Well, they say a photo speaks a thousand words. Hopefully a screencap can at least convey a sentence.

Basically i have only looked at porn once or twice, during those exploring years between 14 and 15 years of age. Now i dont need to, also its kinda gross.

My school is one of those lets make the students buy laptops so they can learn more schools. The problem is if you were to sit at the back of a classroom, i would say out of the 30 people in a class, a good 10 would be watching Porno. Then again my school has a IT department that sucks some major ass. They refuse to monitor the wireless network or put on a filter program. So basically the netword drives are porno land, i believe out of the 800 GB network drive used for school work, a good 700GB would be porn.

It's people like you who is making the webcam a exponetially growing buisiness. That's not to say you participate in it but it's that kind of thinking that is making it what it is. Really though in many ways webcams are even worse, if I remember correctly most, if not all charge ridiculous fees by the minute and people actually pay it!

Its a discussion about porn, and I'm giving my honest experience. Porn isn't all bad, and really its got its place. (I could have gone a lot more in detail with my story, now that wouldn't be appropriate :eek: )

I am carefull with my porn. After everydownload/visit to a site I run a virus/spyware scan. Useually there is something after every scan. By the way, I don't look at porn everyday... only once and a while. When I have no other way to fulfill my carnal needs. ;)

Not really, no. The vest majority of the people I graduated with were totally clueless about much aside from programming. I mean they could write a B-tree deletion algorithm in 4 lines of perl code, but good luck at anything practical. One girl literally thew away her computer and bought a new one when it wouldn't read her floppy. You guessed it, the new didn't read it either. The stupidty of smart people is almost boundless.

Oh, and my porn story. Back in college everyone shared a single unix machine for remote shell access, downloads, etc. By default everyones home directories and the tmp folder were readable by anyone. The horror. There were some people I never looked the same way at again.

The fantasy is ruined. My brain is permanently rewired. I read about the girls in porn. I read about the lives of girls before they entered the porn industry. All follow the same general trend.

I have always known there were girls in porn with mental health issues, but I never knew it was so rampant. A lot of pornography businesses hide this and it seems many of the women try to hide this as well. If you search hard enough though, you can usually find something. At least look back on the history of girls who are no longer performing and assume the trend is the same. History repeats itself.
