I know that song, but that's very different. I just like the song "Amerika", not because it was about America, but just the song itself. It'd be just as cool if they sang about Russia or Timbuktu for all I care.

That's not actually a real translation of the song, just a version to make it sound better in English. The line you're referring to says "Gott weiss ich will kein Engel sein." which literally means "God knows I want not angel be", or "God knows I don't want to be an Angel." Or something.

Yeah, you can't get the same meaning from the songs when you translate it from the original language.

The second is better because the first translation I did was a literal translation.

Rammstein is junk.

I never liked them and never will. Their melody's and music sounds to me like an ugly vocal of a dying baboon. They try to hard to sound good and fail utterly.

It seems to me that anyone who listens to them are trying to be cool by listining to them. If you do actually like them then it turns out that you like crap.

Dude, the purpose of metal and the like IS to suck. It's supposed to suck loudly and violently.
I mean, look at it like this-they're not amazing vocalists, not amazing guitarists or anything, they don't even sing in a language most of us understand.
I like Rammstein because it's excellent background music. When you're not paying attention to it, and doing something else, then is becomes good music.

It's like the 3-foot rule in wargaming-it's just gotta look good when you're not paying much attention to it. I'm not a great painter, but my Fire Warriors look pretty good on the table. But when you pick it up and look at it, it turns out that it's far away from a good mini.

I used to like them, but some of their music just began to seem simplistic and repetitive to me. I'm still a huge fan of metal and industrial, though, and if you do like Rammstein, I recommend KMFDM as mentioned above; it's far more catchy and creative.
