It's like, the kids that I'm teaching right now, they asked me whether people live in Hiroshima, if you can grow healthy foods there, if you run a greater risk of cancer there, and so on... Anyone know about this?

living in hiroshima these days is fine. The city is clean, vibrant, and actually a damn cool place to visit.

And the okonomiyaki tastes awesome.

But I can understand. When I was in Grade 5 I found out that people actually still lived in Hiroshima and I was shocked. It didn't occur to me that the city would have been rebuilt.

Same with Nagasaki... its a nice city.

I do believe some people still suffer the effects but they are children of people who were effected by the radiation of the original blast and aftermath.
