I heard from one of my Japanese pen-pals in Tokyo that bleached blonde hair had gone out of style there, for not only natives but for foreigners as well.
any credit to this?

Its about damn time.
I hate when oriental people streak their hair blond. It looks so silly.
I think black has come back in. Or brunnette...maybe red. I dunno.
My sister keeps up with this stuff, and now she wants to dye her hair black...yes..that is right..she wants to dye it black..her natural hair colour!? WTF?? But in her defense she had streaked it blond and I guess she just can't wait for the dye to just fade away.
I have to admit I used to be totally blonde-and-tan only. Now my styles have changed dramatically, I've learned there's more to life from exploring other hair colours and even skin types.
But don't worry blondies, I still love ya. :p

Great, I'm blonde. Does this mean I'm going to have a harder time finding a BF now? I hate being out of fashion :p
And Jay your opinion doen't count, you like anything that even remotely resembles a female. :D
And Jay your opinion doen't count, you like anything that even remotely resembles a female. :D
Hey, damn straight baby. Incidentally, what's your home address? :D

It's fall, fashion goes with the seasons.
Fall = Dark colors. Not just clothes, but hair too.
Spring/Summer = Light colors. Streaked hair/lighter hair.
Weirdest damned thing I ever saw. Good thing my hair is salt/pepper so I got both ready to serve at all times :D

All hair colours look good. There are hot blondes, hot brunnettes, hot redheads, hot blacks, hot grey...errr...achem.
And to go slightly off-topic.
Eminent future thread.

Why do people keep saying things like this? It's not like I ever said anything incriminating, it was good wholesome (well...) fun all-round, from my perspective. It made me laugh and it was innocent, that's all that matters. ;)

I agree almost completely with that, except for the fact that my natural color is that real dirty blonde color, so i highlight it, just to make it look not so dull. ;)
Tekkan, are you implying that I'm a guy...'cause after 25 1/2 hours of child labor, I can assure that I'm 100% female ;)

Well, there are exceptions to every rule. And I'm talking more about people who color their hair a totally unnatural color... not just higlights in another shade or something. That can look nice sometimes.

I'm really glad I'm a guy. I've had some pretty bad episodes of constipation...but I can't imagine what it is like to have a baby.

Its about damn time.
I hate when oriental people streak their hair blond. It looks so silly.
Personally, I think it looks silly for anyone to have extremely dark hair (no matter ethnic background) to streak their hair blonde. Either dye it blonde, streak it a lighter shade than your hair, but don't try to combine the two.
But then that's just my opinion.
Edit: Oh, and in case it even matters, I am a brunette.

I think its got to do with D-pad doing getting continual crap for doing exactly what you did while you change your tune about the whole affair seemingly every few hours.
Oh yeah... I agree with the comment that you'd get with anything female. Heard about as much anyway.

Red hair is hot.
Damn. I just contradicted myself.
Ok, so I like natural hair colour, but for some stupid reason any girl who dyes their hair red seems a little more attactive to me. But that just me and personal fetishes.

I don't change my tune. My "tune" has been exactly the same all through out the whole thing - my lack of trust in the internet made me say something that would eventually have made the guy fuck up - AND IT DID. I've said that since it happened, and I'll CONTINUE to say that until the ay everyone forgets it. Whereas D_pad totally started hitting on a guy.
Now - can't you just forget it?

That might be cool, if it's just temporary. :p I had pink in my hair for awhile just for the heck of it (the wash out stuff though) ;) .
Somtimes I wish I had brown hair, because it would be prettier and less of a hassle to take care of than the yucky blonde I've got.
And what's the deal with Jay getting married in Canada? Is he marrying Mariko or D? :D I'll be a brides maid!

I must say however, that your new tack, the 'I was trying to bait her into revealing herself, and look it worked', is quite imaginative. Unbelievable given your overall persona on here with all females, but imaginative.
"New" tack? I always said that.
And not "trying" man. I always do that with everyone, because it's the damn internet. I don't trust shit ANYWHERE, so I say things people will jump on and then I'll know if they're for real or bullshitting.
IT'S A STANDARD PRACTISE DAMN YOU.

So every comment made to or about the female posters here, most of which are no different to comments made to 'mariko' are testing them because you don't trust them?
And you've always said that, yet that storyline has only popped up in the past day or two? These here (http://outpostnine.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3159&postcount=17) (14-17) and here (http://outpostnine.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3339&postcount=34) (33-34) were part of your catch her out plan? Here (http://www.outpostnine.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3449&postcount=88)? Ohrly?
I'm curious to see where you 'always said that' about Mariko, because all I can find is stuff leaning in other direction. That the same hook line and sinker that may have taken D-pad also took you.
Hang on, I see where this is going... You seriously took what I said to be serious, and not just the usual shameless forum banter everyone partakes in?

OK, so what about a person like me?
I have naturally sandy blonde hair, but dark black eyebrows, so i've always dyed my hair dark black.
recently though i dyed it dark brown and then bleached my tips blonde; this is the only good picture i have of the bleached tips.

now here's the question;
which of these hair colors, do you think would look good in the eyes of the japanese teenagers? i.e. again people around my age. (17-21 or so).
also, the clothing style i mainly wear is that of the styles in the pictures with blonde and brown hair; i don't wear the stuff that's in the black hair pictures that much anymore.
right now though my hair is just like the first picture; that's barely a week old.

I would have to say...the blonde hair would make you seem more foriegn. Which would make you stand out. Which would be a good thing right?
I don't know about attractiveness considering one I'm not japanese and two I'm not a girl.

Stick with the blonde Deepbluevibe, It makes you stand out in Japan. Whilst they may no longer go for blondes they still sure as hell go for foreigners. Blonde hair makes you stick out a mile and that's no bad thing :D
I'm realy annoyed about this though, last time I was in Japan my blonde hair worked a treat with the ladies. Now I guess I'll actually have to try and talk to them to pick them up :(

People who bleech their hair usually ruin what is usually a very nice hair color. Bleeching hair usually makes it look like shit and it really pisses me off to see everybody and their mother doing it.

08-20-2005, 09:51 PM
A lot of times the bleached hair thing looks horrible since people often keep the same type of clothing.
I remember seeing this Japanese guy with light pink hair. No joke. It looked very neat, though, with his med-length hair, medium sized purple band shirt, and boot-cut dark jeans (with studded belt). It didn't look anything gayish, either; he kept his eyebrows dark, so there wasn't anything particularly wierd about it (only it stood out).
If I saw most anyone dye their hair in such a garish color they would probably be laughed at. It's all about keeping an eye on the whole body.
Personally I think I'd look like a petty thug with bleached hair; I've got thin eyes and naturally sharp brows. Like those stupid would-be asian gangster kids.

08-20-2005, 10:06 PM
If I bleached my hair I would probably look like an idiot. I'm not blonde material.
As for people that do bleach their hair... I dunno it works out sometimes. I've seen many people that pull it off well. Then there are others that really look like idiots. Personally, though, I'd prefer all-natural hair color.
Anyone with naturally blonde hair is fine with me, too.
Sad to see blonde people are out of fashion, guess I'll go sit in a corner somewhere...
About dying your hair, so many girls in my college do this now, it's freakin awful. I don't mean normal dye to make it a normal colour or even a mad red/blue, I mean garbage hair, like they dyed it a few months ago and have been living in a dump the rest of the time, if you can imagine that...better stop, turning into a rant ;x
deepbluevibes

I held out on bleaching my hair for years; I only did it recently because I've tried almost every other hair color (black, brown, grey, blue, magenta, green) and I wanted to try bleaching it. Plus, my natural hair color sucks (sandy blonde) and if I don't dye my hair or bleach it, it's so super fine and thin that it does nothing but hang down in front of my face, I can't style it or anything.
And I DID have long hair at one point; but I looked horrible with it, so I got it short, and short hair just laying there = stupid.

It just has to look decent, but in Japan, trends are very notable. One ant marches left, all of them do. I remember this one trend where dudes would be hanging out in gangs wearing animal costumes; one such group called, "the pink hamster" group. Strange, strange.

That has been the natural progression of my hair colour over the last 3 months. Just went jet black last night.... but dammit, on the box it said blue-black. Argh. Discontent.
