If you want to start your own version of fark, would you please do it somewhere else than on this forum?
If you want to post something interesting, then post more than 4 words with a link, AND CHANGE YOUR TEXT COLOUR SO EVERYONE CAN READ IT!

Cmon now, save the Fark stick for eyez- she's posting funny crap and he is actually posting crap from Fark.
Or, why don't we just start a "Links to cool crap" thread?
Anyway: I was going to say "Why doesn't anybody like goths?" while posting a picture of a real goth, but all I got while GISing were the lame goths. I guess they're dead :( .
Eh, there's been less activities within this forum, so, as long as there's some stuff going on, I'm all for more threads. I can't read that strip due to the late hours and I need sleep...

1. I don't know what the hell fark is, so I can't possibly create one.
2. I'll post how many words I feel like it, screw you very much.
3. Why don't you change your forum skin to black? Then you could read it just fine.

Roxie, others on this board use the black skin but don't have to change thier font color to pastel pink, orange or anything else that induces seizures and headaches in those that use the default skin. Several others on the board have mentioned that your shit is hard to read.

Roxie, others on this board use the black skin but don't have to change thier font color to pastel pink, orange Eaisly remedied. See, there's this drop down box in the "reply" page that says [color]. This allows the registered user to change the color of their posts. There's a good variety to choose from. You can either choose the color first, and type in your reply in the pop-up box or type in your reply in, highlight and then select the color you desire. Voila, colored text! ;) Several others on the board have mentioned that your shit is hard to read.
Not at all hard to read when using the black skin. Or you can simply highlight.

1. I don't know what the hell fark is, so I can't possibly create one.
fark is a blog where tons of links are posted. Like a thousand other sites that do the same thing. You can possibly try to create one here without knowing what it is as you are on a roll of posting insanely short blurbs with a link to a site.
2. I'll post how many words I feel like it, screw you very much.
And I'll mock you for it and bring it up to the moderators because it is annoying, spammish, and you're being obnoxious about it.
3. Why don't you change your forum skin to black? Then you could read it just fine.
Why don't you post in a colour that people with the default skin (y'know, the one most people use) can actually read it? You can read what I write no problem, yet I have to bend over backwards to read your drivel?
You're acting like a 2 year-old throwing a temper tantrum right now.
You have been asked several times to make your text readable.
You have been told that there are other people using another skin having no problems making things readable for everyone with either skin.
You are the only one who insists that it is our duty to swap to your skin to read your posts without hurting our eyes.
This is fucking juvenile.

I can read the pink text fine. But that comic really wasn't funny at all imo.
I'm just glad Roxie doesn't post five paragraph essays every five seconds. She has the right to choose whatever color of font she wishes to use, even if it is white, thus effectively invisible.

What is this, the "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to" syndrome?
She's being obnoxious for a great portion of the membership here by posting in a colour that most people have a pain in the ass trying to read. She's posting links one after another with no commentary or anything. She may as well put them in one bloody thread in RWPW where spam belongs if she's going to post such useless crap.
She's being intentionally confrontational about her text colour, stating that anyone who has a problem with it can either do things her way or go suck a lemon.
This is just absurd. Able to or not, posting in a colour nobody can read isn't a very proper thing to do. Yet people defend her actions for no reason other than the right of people to be obnoxious because they're able to?
Where the fuck has common sense gone?

I am not acting like a 2 year old. I have said "no" several times, but I continue to be asked. How many different ways do I have to say "no", before you finally get it? Or I start actually doing all those things you're accusing me of by posting in white font?
I never said it was anyone's duty to change their skin. I asked, as they asked me. IF they don't, that's fine. I do not continue to pester them.
Just as the skin is your choice, the text is my choice. You do not need to bend over backwards to read my posts. You do not need to read them at all.
You know, there's this funny little option called "ignore".
It's not spam, it's colored text. cool off.
Dude, seriously. I made, what--TWO threads with links? And I did comment. It's in the first post. So what if it's a sentence or two. It's still a comment relevant to the link!
And where has your sense gone when you derail MY thread into an arguement about my text color. Have you nothing else to talk about?
My highlight color is orange. Doesn't help reading your drivel much.
That's your choice, ain't it?
You don't like my posts anyway, why do you care what color they're in?
It's 1:53 in the morning and there's a lovely spat going on. And people complain about the lack of activity here...

And it's my choice not to use the black skin. And it's my choice to try to read my post.
Therefore, it's OBVIOUSLY all my fault here, and your text colour has absolutely nothing to do with this situation.
Or, y'know, you could post in the default text colour and everyone could read it.
God forbid.
You are lacking logic. You're imposing on everyone and expecting them to put up with your imposition. I may be an asshole, but at least I'm an asshole in a text colour everyone can read. You're acting like a 2 year-old who demands that she gets her way or everyone leaves you alone.
Why don't you just ignore everyone without the black skin? That way you wouldn't have to put up with these obnoxious comments.

Let me quote myself.
I don't care what font Roxie posts in - it's her personal preference.
I am not inconvenienced by it, and I don't see it as being obnoxious just because she uses another skin. I suppose some people might have trouble reading it - not sure why - but I don't see why you then need to call them out on it.
Where the fuck has common sense gone?
Exactly, I thought it was easy to just highlight the text as well. Oh, wait...
Pierrot le Fou

My highlight colour is ORANGE. Orange does not highlight Orange very well, as my Mac doesn't invert the colours to make them easier to read when working in Firefox.
Which is clearly also my fault as I refuse to buy a new computer or swap browsers in order to be able to read posts.
Common courtesy would suggest that people posting on internet forums are doing so for more than to see their own text pop up. They are addressing an audience. When they immediately manage to piss off a good portion of their audience with an obnoxious text-colour, most people would conclude that they are lacking in common sense. A rational being would realize, "Well golly-gee, since I am trying to communicate with people, I should try to facilitate communication by changing my text-colour!"
Instead people pull out this absolutely obnoxious routine about how, due to the fact that I could go out of my way to be able to read the thoughts that she wants to present, that I have a duty to either do that or to shuttup about the fact that she's being irrational and throwing a tantrum for no reason other than the fact that she can.

You're getting way too excited. We here all have choices on what we wish our forum (that we each personally see) to look like.
You don't like my text font, ignore me or change to black skin. This is not a democracy. I don't have to change for everyone who uses default and I won't. You can utulize your choices too, yet you refuse. So I guess we're at a standstill.
You want to annoy me? Use black text. I don't care, I'll highlight. I can't ignore people who aren't using the black skin, because I cannot tell if they're using it or not. It all looks black to me.
A rational being would realize, "Well golly-gee, since I am trying to communicate with people, I should try to facilitate communication by changing my text-colour!"
But I don't have to. Just as you don't have to read my posts. Seems fair to me.
I'm not being obnoxious, you really should've pm'd me instead of screwing up my thread like you did.
I never said you had a duty to do anything, I don't know where in the blue hell you get that from.
The only one throwing a tantrum here is you. I've never seen someone get so worked up about something so eaisly remedied.
Or you could just ignore her. I have about three-four people on my ignore list, and unless I am really curious about what they had to say, I never get to see their posts and go on. Turns out that they rarely have anything interesting to say.
I'm not defending Roxie. Her pink texts are quite the eyesore, and if she would go with the black font, that would be a quick way to settle this spat. However, it is her prerogative to choose whatever font colors she wants to display her posts with, and nobody can change that.
But what am I saying? Keep fighting, people.

If I'm in the line to buy subway tokens/cards/whatever, and the person in front of me has no idea what they're doing, is searching for the cost, and trying to shuffle through their wallet for perfect change, sure it's their right to stand there blocking the machine in the sense that nobody can really stop them. It doesn't change the fact that despite me being able to use another machine, it's obnoxious and a pain in the arse for a majority of the folks waiting to use the damned machines.
Or that obnoxious guy at work who never showers. Sure he doesn't have to shower. And sure, we can avoid him. Does that mean that he doesn't still stink of ass and lack social etiquette?

While you have no choice to make that guy disappear or to make the other guy shower, you DO have a choice to ignore me. A luxury not presented in most real life situations. Very sweet.

It's basically our preference too not to change it and just remind her of the color of her text. Godsakes, it's like running yellow on a white text.
See? YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW. Doesn't apply on a black background. No, we won't change ours either.
Well whatever really. I prefer the default style myself. No condoning for me, but the text is simply unreadable.
Regarding topic: Fucking weird.
It would be sweet if I could be color blind for a split second, look at this thread, and go "WTF are they fighting about?"

I've gotta agree. It's a pain in the ass.
It's cool if you use pink fonts or whatever, but do it somewhere where there is no effect on other people. Write all your essays in pink. IM in pink. Draw pictures in pink.
As stated before, it would be very nice of you to extend common courtesies to the members of this forum and use the black font. It's not an act of conformity or anything, just in case you might be a teenager who thinks that using pink font is like sticking it to the man or something. It would be a nice thing to do, and a reflection of your character.
On another note, you made a pretty horrible thread. At least provide some worthwhile input on things you post.
Komachi Angel

Well, it's not really a problem for me.
As a hypothetical, however, let's say it is. If the problem is something I am incapable of fixing myself, and something I can't live with, the natural thing for me to do would be to talk to the person and try and explain my view to them.
I would be very careful about the situation, as basic common sense tells me that people don't like being criticised for their personal choices. If they feel they are being attacked, they are likely to defend themselves and continue doing so despite potentially thinking the opposite, because that's how people work.
Of course, we could always walk up to that guy at work and say 'hey, you stink and you're clearly doing this intentionally to piss people off. People really have a problem with you, and quite frankly we find you lacking in common sense'. Big winner, that - made heaps of friends that way, myself.

Collapse - I can read your yellow font.
Personally, people can reply in rainbows if they want - I don't care. I can still read it, and if I couldn't then I would do something so I could.
If it was that bad, cut and paste into the reply bar if you really, really want to read it.
I find Komachi Angel's arguments to be quite reasonable so far.

It has no effect on you at all. It does not literally give you a headache. It does not make you sick. It does not hack your pc and steal your precious mp3s.
I'm not a teenager nor do I believe I am "sticking it to the man". I believe I'm using pink because I like the way it looks on the black forum skin. Yep, that would be it.
It would be nice, but I do not have to be so nice as to change my font because you find it displeasing to the eye. You don't like it, put me on ignore. There it is simple, easy, and done. I really don't care what you may think about my character. Nice try trying to guilt trip me on that though, kudos.
I made a thread with a link I find very funny and would like to share, so I did. PLF made it horrible. This is general discussion. I'd like to discuss the link, but before I can, other people need to join in it. You don't like it, don't find it funny. That's cool, I'd never expect everyone to like it.

I think we can safely say this thread isn't about the original topic anymore. So i'm going to close it.
Please Roxie, Don't post news articles in the discussion area. They usually don'\t generate a discussion and just clutter up the board. I've been trying to get a seperate forum for news articles, but progress is slow. Until that time post them in the RWPW. If you want to post something in the GD area make sure the post has something to start it off, like your opinion or a question to the other members. Threads with just a news article usually derail pretty fast and are short lived.
Ok, now for the font color thing. Personally i don't give a hoot, i dont read posts that i have trouble with reading (even though i'm in standard layout). But after a LOT of request made by other members to me and to you, i ask you, Roxie, to change your font color to something more readable, out of courtesy.
There, i've stuck my butt on the line, Let this be the end of it. As long as Az doesnt outlaw font colors, Roxie can't be forced to do anything. If you still have the undieing urge to discuss this further, please do so over PM
Roxie, your font color is a pain in the god damned ass. It is miserable to read. I HAVE TO READ YOUR POSTS. I don't have the luxury of ignoring you and to be honest, even though I've not made a big deal about it, your font color gives me migraines. Reading on a black background makes my eyes explode and thank you very much, you never say anything worth four hours of sitting in the dark and crying. to date, I've not met anyone online who is worth it. It wouldn't be such a big deal if you were at least polite to the people who have asked repeatedly that you might take others into some consideration. The DEFAULT skin is a light background with dark text. Non-standard font colors should adjust to the default. The default - the standard - doesn't change to accommodate pink. If you don't, fine, but don't expect people to quit asking you to change and don't be so obnoxious about it.
Two, this kind of stuff is spam, so please post it in the Room with Padded Walls. I'm going to move it there when I'm done posting.
And finally, if Roxie, or any other poster for that matter, annoys you, just put them on ignore. The board is so much more peaceful that way.
