I'm completely enjoying the weather. I've been waiting for weather like this all year long.

Earlier this week it felt like mid January weather....about 10 degrees colder than normal for this time of year. Still haven't gotten a major snowfall here...only 1-2 inches and barely any accumulation.
Had a slush over here in DC- about 1-3 inch of snow/ice.

We got a about a foot of snow total on the ground up here in Michigan and I love it. Last night we had about a five hundred person snowball fight between South Quad and West Quad (two dorms at my school) and it was amazing.

Gah, it is. Driving back from Pittsburgh with zero visibility was fun. Let me put it this way-- it's a fifty minute trip generally. It took us TWO HOURS to get back to campus! We left Sushi Kim's at eight-thirty and didn't get back until ten-thirty. It sucked.
Friggin' blizzard here. I think we got dumbed with 6-8 inches of snow. And guess what? No delays whatsoever, not even for the high school! (It's across from campus.) >_< Gah, I've moved to Siberia....

What really sucked for me growing up was seeing all of the religious schools canceling classes every time there was an inch or more of snow on the ground. There would have to be at least 14 inches of snow before the public schools would cancel. My brother and I would sit by the TV watching the news, hoping that our schools would be listed as closed. It rarely happened though.

We (vancouver canada area) had a couple bouts of snow in the past week or 2, but today, I can't see a spot of dampness on the street outside...
at least the japanese student staying with us for to see some decent amounts of snow. (It doesn't show up in her area at home)..
Although the odds are slim, it would be nice to have a white christmas....

The fog didn't get to us this year as bad. Last year the fog was pretty bad, but fall started late this year. Where I live, it's either extremely hot, or extremely cold, (and thats it, there is no thunderstorms, no tornados, no snow, just hot or cold, sometimes rain) it's pretty boring, acutally :(

Texas has a cold front in right now... Oh lord, does it feel good. My face actually felt frozen again.
And yeah, I did miss that feeling. We cherish our cold fronts dearly.

The other day I got woken up at about 3AM to go help with something on the exterior of the ship... I was violently shaking within about 15 seconds of going outside.

you. die now. i hate you. i wanna go back home to california~~~!!!
it's cold (-1 C) and it's HUMID. That means that no matter how many layers you wear, the cold just seeps right into your bones. My hands and feet feel like I have arthritis, with the cold stabbing my joints all the time.
Chinese call the Southern Coldness the "Bone Stabbing Cold" for a reason. I'd actually rather be up north, where it's just as cold but it's a dry cold. At least if you cover up the wind won't stab into you, but it will scrape any exposed skin.

Fujin, your in Texas too? We just got less than half an inch of snow, just enough to melt, then refreeze on the roads. Instantly, everything in the DFW area shuts down for like two days while the ice kinda sorta melts.

We've had about 6 inches of snow here for the last couple of weeks. Our school adds 3 days to the end of our required time in school assuming we are going to have snow days. In all of my years at a public school (I'm in my 11th year countng kindergarten now) we have only had the school canceled because of snow once. It was when I was in 5th grade... *flashback*
At the time I didn't use an alarm clock and my mom woke me up for school. One morning I looked at the time and it was 10:45. I ran downstairs and saw my older siblings watching TV. I yelled at them and told them what times it was. They all just laughed and told me it was a snow day. I was glad that I didn't have school but pissed that they didn't wake me up. By the time I ate breakfast and got all of my snow clothes on the morning was gone and I pretty much wasted my snowday. It was alright but I wish I could have another and actually use it right.

how about you will die as well, i want -1c as well, dry kind though....
It's cold here. 30's or low 40's around noon. We got three inches of snow last week, but it's gone now. Instead the ground is frozen solid and the air is really dry. It's only December though, we usually get our heavy snow and even colder temperatures during January. Yuck. :(

I lived in Orlando for three years and the weather made me miserable. In the summer, going out before 9pm or after 8am was so damned hot I couldn't hack it longer than it took to get into my car and crank the AC (and sometimes not even that much). And, Australia aside, there is something inherantly wrong with needing to MOW on Christmas day...boy was I singing "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas."
Personally, my favorite climate is between 55 and 65F (12.8-18.3C), overcast with maybe a slight drizzle off and on. I think I'm the lost Addams in that regard. I like it wonderfully dreary...is it any wonder Fall is my favorite time of year?
Anyhow...I'm back up in Western New York where it is 14F (-10C) which is just a bit chillier than I care for, and actually below average for this time of year. Being just off Lake Ontario, we can get a HUGE amount of snow. Just before I moved to Florida, we had almost 3 feet (1 meter) in one night, but that was VERY unusal. Normal snow fall in a day around this time of year ranges from 2 to 10 inches (5-25cm).
The nice thing about weather hear...very rarely does it get deadly. In fact, the only weather releated deaths I can think of in recent times (discounting traffic accidents) was when a huge ice storm hit, nocking power out for almost a week in some areas...there was one or two victims of hypothermia.

Something is messed up with the weather. Last week's second half was crazy cold, getting below zero and breaking records around the area, getting tons of snow and missing some school, and now it's suddenly pretty darn nice out, and all the snow is melting.
Double yoo tee eff?!?!?!

Well, I used to be bothered by the heat. I started playing sports in the afternoons after work and I have gotten used to the sweating. And I haven't lost my tolerance for cold either!! mwhahah
