Or goal, however you wish to put it. After reading Bruce Lee's Jeet Kun Do, I'm feelin like my ultimate desire is to be a master of self. To have 360 degrees of knowledge of myself and to exhibit my ability in every aspect of my life.
....and yes I'm bored so whats yours? lol

My ultimate desire would probably be to finish the stories I started writing years ago but never finished. Damn you writer's block. Damn you to hell.
Writer's block sucks! :( You see the story there, but you just can't finish it. That's made me mad on occasion.

My ambition/dream is to work for Nintendo, on bi-lingual support/localisation. It's one of the(out of 20+) reasons why I am doing a degree in Japanese(taking it step by step!). Which also bring along my interest in languages. I'd really like a job/career where I can display my language skills. Would be just amazing.

Knowledge of self is simple by answering this question...
Who are you? Not what you do, what people see you as etc...
What part of NY are you from?
I really dont have an ultimate desire or goal
flash someone :D i don't know why that's in my head. but it sure is in there. either that, or be an exhibitionist. sometime, yes. try drugs. go wild. yay!
something more hm.. say, serious 'serious', though- to handle english, chinese, japanese and french fluently by the time i'm 25. travel the world :) die painlessly.
and for a soothing, down-to-earth one.. i'd like to sit by the sea with a slice of blackforest, a coffee bean blended sunrise, and koc playing in the background. preferably before the sunrise. :)
i'm such a dreamer, am i not?

Its not the question thats the difficult its the answer people believe to be complicated ;) :D
The problems of life are not difficult its just the answers to those problems that makes it difficult.

You know what thats the thing, I know the answer is gonna be something mindblowingly simple. Its just, and I hate to place the blame on anyone/where but myself, society tends to fill your head with what you should become and should do and when and where and why that you get so caught up in trying to please society you tend to forget about "well wait a minute, what do i want."

Make a damn good living using my martial arts... And mastering all aspects of such a profession. Heh...
Seems quite unlikely that will happen, though.

I would like to own an office building in downtown New York, somewhere in the 60-story range. There wouldn't be a business or anything there (at the time of my move-in), it'd just be me. I would also like to not have to pay any taxes on it, and have enough money to buy awesome stuff for it.

I dunno. I just don't want to be an instructor unless it pays considerably well.

The question people often end up facing is whether they want more autonomy in their lives or more power. Getting more of one always means you get less of the other. Being a writer is a job with tons of autonomy, for example, but with very little power. A writer has a lot of freedom, but most of them have very little money or influence. If they do get famous then suddenly people are more demanding of them and they lose much of their freedom, i.e. autonomy, but they gain more power over others. It's a sort of necessary trade off. But figuring out which is more important to you, autonomy or power, should help you figure out what kinds of lifelong goals are best for you to peruse now and in the future.
Personally, I would like to go to culinary school and study the art of making pastry. I do not want to become a famous chef, however, or even a chef in a famous restaurant because I prefer to have a lot of autonomy in my life. If I could make enough money to get by on making tasty, tasty pastries where I could work alone or with very few people demanding things of me, this would make me very happy.

Success. Not the bullshit spawned by being bombarded by the media's projections of what success, either. Self-assured success. Being able to wake up every day and not just think I'm feeding the U.S. economy while being a slave to the dollar. I don't want a fucking yacht. I want the type of success that brings peace-of-mind. And I want that, of course, with my beloved by my side.

Fujin: Instructors who make a lot of money generally commit way more to commercialism (ATA, XMA, any of the 2093840923 karate schools down the street) than their practice.
My capoeira instructor still needs sponsors to keep her school up; as of now, she teaches in a room rented at the local gym. As for my former wushu sifu, he did his schooling in his backyard. The exceptional iaido sensei was already wealthy as a college instructor, but later taught iaido full time as a passion (though since I joined and left, more than 30 students have gone under his wing, as opposed to the 3 he started with, my included).
Despite circumstances, teaching is still teaching, and busines is still business. College can make the financial road to committed teaching easier. Last time I recalled, my great uncle, who was a doctor (and wealthy) taught Kyu-do as a hobby, for free.
Unfortunatly, as honest and great a job as teaching is, I can't find myself doing it in the fact that I have trouble in explaining movements/reason.
==
I don't believe that people really know what they ultimately want, or ever will, on account of ambigouity. If you're depressive in one day, and happy the next, your feelings of wants/needs change. It's a cycle that doesn't stop; if you're hungry, you'll want a tasty meal. Feeling alone? Probably something that has to do with romance/friendship.
That one movie, "Bruce Almighty", had basically stated the same thing.
Personally, in the way that I feel right now, my thoughts on my ultimate desire is the courage (not recklesness) to embrace my spontanious side.
Often I have a habit of clinging on to events and "reason"; which take the form small, crippling emotion-spots that attatch to the back of my mind. To dessipate these spots and run through my current life in a more stable, yet passionate manner would be rather wonderful.

I think teaching as a passion would be the ultimate display of mastery of an art. Thats something id want to do once im established though because I wouldnt want to be unsure in any way of what I'm teaching, and I'd want to teach it for free, or at least for a very very low price.

The only people I want to teach, at the moment, are my future children and wife. Maybe a few others I feel like teaching... Other than that, no.
And yeah I know akitaka. I would not want to take the commercial route of martial arts instruction.

Family is a good priority; heck, you might as well have been teaching you're own style to them exclusively...raising a troupe of future-ninjas is always braggable. Not to mention having a wife that could break bricks. Yeah, baby...

I'd like to work in dog and cat rescue. Which pays nothing. But then, I will soon be finished paying for high school and college for my daughter and I have quite a bit saved up so I could take a few years off.
In VA, the group I used to work with went to high-kill pounds in rural areas, and brought the dogs and cats up to Northern VA. They went to the Dog Ranch or to foster homes to get them in good shape for adoption. We then brought them to PetSmart on the weekends to meet potential adopters. I rehabilitated a German short-haired pointer that was 20 lbs underweight and a cute lab mix who had a bad case of kennel cough (not life-threatening but turns off potential adopters). I would have adopted the latter dog but I got the job in Tokyo...
I've always wanted to help stray cats and dogs. Maybe I should take a paying job at a low-kill animal shelter (yes, I do believe euthanasia is proper in the case of some really old or wounded animals with no quality of life).
I also wouldn't mind a job as a pet-sitter, dog-walker, etc.
It's gotta beat reading patents all day long... (which at least will have provided me with the financial resources to afford to take a low-paying but highly-satisfying job- I mean, sometimes my current job is satisfying, it's just after 20 years of reading and writing patents, well, it gets a little old-which is why I keep changing jobs and technologies- keeps it a little fresh at least).

Don't believe in writer's block, guys. Just write, even if it isn't good, and it will come to you. Brainstorm - write down the problem in your story and then write 12 or so different possibilities, from wacky to practical. And never lose hope! I hope you do well. :)
