I hate driving in Miami with a passion. It seems like everyone’s driving I.Q is a little above “functioning retard.” I’ve been in traffic jams caused by angry girlfriends, I’m serious. There was this one incident where this guy’s girlfriend gets out of his car at a stop light, throws her drink at his car, and then he runs after her! Yes, he abandons his vehicle to chase after his girlfriend. In Miami, that is not a smart move. Even if your car is a piece of shit, somebody will find something to steal. Anyways, back to the idiots. Finally he manages to drag her back into the vehicle and they drive off. Couldn’t she have saved her childish tantrum for McDonalds, not the stoplight?

But the worst offenders have to definitely be those drivers who can’t seem to stop yapping long enough on their cellphones to notice that the traffic light is green.

I’m getting hives just talking about this.

And for the record, I don’t really know if that pissed off chick was his girlfriend. I’ll just assume she is.

I've seen a man drive through main street in his tractor talking on his cell phone.

I laughed at the intense irony of that.

I hate it when people talk on the cell phone while driving. I hate it when they talk on them loudly in public. I hardly use my own cell phone. I'm not sure why people are so obsessed with them. My friends love talking to each other on them, but honestly, I see enough of them at school. I don't need to talk to them when I'm out driving.

I think Orlando would give Miami a run for its money in the crappy driver department. People here are just so rude, inconsiderate, AND stupid that I wonder why so many people are still driving.

It's illegal to use your cellphone whilst driving in the UK. Too many accidents because people just don't pay attention to the road.

Miami, in terms of it's idiot drivers, is second to none.

I have to second that. Some idiot on a cell phone ran over my dog... while he was in my yard. Never mind the countless accidents that I witnessed on Miami Ave.

I've never been to Miami or Orlando, but have any of you guys ever been to San Francisco? Cuz in SF, not only do the drivers not know how to drive, the pedestrians are equally as messed up.

And then in the summer, all the crazy 80 year old Florida drivers come to NC, where they drive like idiots (hence the friendly term, Floridiot). Road rage is rampant, at least in my car!

I second this, having spent alot of time in Miami and Orlando. Orlando drivers are the craziest SOBs I've yet to encounter. Even in Miami, from what I've seen, Red means stop; in Orlando, Red means speed the fuck up and blame whomever hits you as someone who wasn't paying attention to the road.

Also, whilst on the topic of people with cars in Orlando, beware parking lots. My car, which started with a perfect body, was riddled with dents after a year in O-Town. I've keyed so many cars whose owners hit my car with their doors as if that was just the way things are done.

It also doesn't help that the roads in Miami are 2 inches in diameter.

Any part of California contains insane drivers. Specially down here in Southern California.

Lea

^ Agreed, when I visit down there, people are very aggressive. Here in Washington, everyone drives slow and politely. But in California, all the fast drivers go in the far left lane so traffic flows better. Here, everyone just drives slow across all lanes!

You wanna talk about insane drivers go to Queens, New York where someone will be speeding along nicely then suddenly stop short in front of you and triple park, and get out of their car right in the middle of the street. Ive seen cars parked on the LEFT side of the road. Meaning you know how some roads have dividers. yea someone parked on the right side of the DIVIDER

Oh dear god, don't get me STARTED on those asshats....

wait...too late.

Personally, I think there should be a year round no-bag-limit open season on fuckwads on cellphones while driving. Look, if the conversation is THAT important, pull the fucking car over, put it in park/neutral (if stick) and finish the convo, hang up, then resume driving

But hell no, they yammer on and on and on while attempting to drive, usually endangering anyone else on the road, not paying the slightest bit of attention to the road or the other 2000+ pound vehicles surrounding them!!!!

What I *REALLY* hate is riding my motorcycle around fuckwads like that. It's bad enough when some asshole cager doesn't see you, and he's NOT on a cellphone. It's even MORE infuriating to see them jacking their jaw on a phone. Especially when they do shit like suddenly deciding to occupy the lane I happen to be in. Can we say "frantic braking / downshifting" kiddies? I knew we could...

It's not illegal in all states, because it's only illegal here (in Maryland) for provisional licenses and learner's permit holders, which is really ridiculous. It should be illegal for everyone. If the call is really that important, pull over! If not, turn the freakin' phone off and wait till you get home. Ugh. People are so stupid.

Hmm... these are just the random things I have seen ... that I can remember off the top of my head.

Orlando drivers, completely crazy and are some how still alive.

I'm driving on a 4-lane divided highway at night, the road is not well lit but business around have lights, the median is about 2 lanes wide. I see lights pull out into the middle of the road and stop like someone turning left and only going halfway. Then I realize "oh shit, that's a flat-bed semi." So I slam on my brakes and don't kill myself on this semi that is just sitting in the road. I think, maybe if I had kept going he might have gotten out of the way, but it would have been damn close. Thank god for the 2-inch reflector on the side of the truck.

Imagine a very busy intersection, two 6-lane roads meet, there are 2 left turn lanes for each direction and right hand turn lanes in some cases. I was driving straight and pulled up to the red light in the left lane. The left turn signal to my left went green and all of the people who were turning left went. Then out of no where someone whizzes by me on the left and makes a RIGHT turn (dodging the people opposite us who were turning left to the same direction he ended up going). I thought I couldn't have been more shocked, except a few seconds later someone ELSE did it!

I have seen far too many motorcyclists who want to die. They range from driving between cars in two adjacent lanes, to doing stunts like standing on one side of the bike and touching the ground. Just yesterday someone in an SUV leaned out his window to yell at these crazy bikers and they got pissed, got in front of him and slowed way way down. Last time I checked, a motorcyle would lose that one...

And I've gotten lucky once. "You know, it doesn't look like he's going to stop for that red light, maybe I shouldn't go yet." I sat there at my green light and let him go by before continuing.

Orlando has a fucked up combination of college students, tourists, retirees, and normal residents. Now, take that and add some of the worst designed roads and horrible traffic engineers you've ever seen, and you get some of the worst traffic ANYWHERE.

Save me!

This was a few years back so I'm not sure if the numbers have changed but there was a study that listed the causes of car accidents and changing the radio was higher in numbers than talking on the cell phone. So if that's still true than if you guys think talking on the cell phone should be illegal, than changing the radio station in your car should be too.

A short list of things that annoy me-

- Being tailgated when I am doing the limit.
- Being tailgated in the rain
- People who cut you up, leaving around 10cm stopping distance
- Getting into 3 hour traffic jams so some people can look at an accident as they drive by
- People who think speed bumps are zebra crossings
- People that stop for people who think speed bumps are zebra crossings
- People that don't notice a light go green, go when it turns orange and are the only one through
- People that enter high-speed traffic at really stupid times
- People that speed like there's no tomorrow, but go really slowly for an on-ramp to the highway
- People that, when you are in a traffic jam, drive ON THE PAVEMENT thinking the problem is you, then find out they're wrong
- People that almost run into you and then abuse you

Oh, the list goes on...
