Sounds like Visual Kei is more of an aesthetic style and not so much a music style.

listen to it enough and you'll find them stealing each other's patterns, namely, the damn man-girl vocals and drumming zeal. Aesthetically it can get pretty gay, though.

I can't think of a band that I'd consider as openly homoerotic, however I can point out that Bono's (U2) freaken sunglasses are flamin'.
