Saw that back in college and was mildly amused. Only problem is that spiders and humans have *completely* different metabolisms, so it's not necessarily an accurate comparison, but it does illustrate that caffeine is a narcotic, even though we don't treat it as such.

Check this article out. (http://archives.cnn.com/2002/TECH/science/08/15/coffee.protein/?related)

It's research on a gene that has reactions to caffeine; I'm not sure if spiders have it, but the effectiveness of coffee seems to depend on whether an animal has this sort of trait. Kind of like a key protein to let the stuff work its magic.

That's because it is a mild diuretic; you lose water if you don't drink other things besides Coffee. I personally don't like the effects, since the hour after I get all sluggish.

CAFFIENE! I love caffiene, very good thing. Sure, it's very addictive, but a lot of things in life are. Hey, it's not heroin, so I'm fine with it.

I've read that study before, and it certainly is interesting. Somehow, it reminds me of the study that proves cats don't have sweet taste buds. It certainly would explain why they're always so cranky, now wouldn't it?

This logic is silly!

What logic is, the fact that cats can't taste sweet, or the fact that this is the cause of their crankiness?
