I recently got myself a rather nasty head cold that brings my normal baritone voice down to a raspy bass. It is amazing how many people find this voice sexy. I'd be happier if it didn't hurt so much. But has anyone else experienced this or have a rational reason for it?

Being female, no, I never have. At least, I don't think I have. I don't believe that my voice would be very 'sexy' if it was low and raspy. I think it would be butchy and wierd. D:>

For whatever reason, 100% of the females queried in regards to my voice find the deep resonance very sexy. Now if only I had the body of an Abercrombie model to match, lol.

I had a cold or flu or something once. I lost my voice. After I felt much better but for a couple months after. Even though I felt healthy and my throat wasn't sore I still sounded like the Godfather.

I knew this guy who was a bass and everytime he sang, I cracked up. It was very sexy. :D

well it's better to have a strong bass voice than a girly one ...

I hate people who sound like they are whining when they talk

I wish I had a raspy voice and that I could sing....not Macy Gray raspy, just a hint.

Girls say I have a sexy voice.

Now only the face and body to match with it ;)

Imagine, if you will: you meet a short, skinny guy who looks way younger than he is. Not physically imposing at all. Then he talks, and in a deep baritone/bass voice. A short, scrawny guy who barely tops out at 120 pounds.

That's me.

Now imagine you're me, and you see the reactions on some people's faces when they hear you talk.

Great stuff.

I still remember when I did the vocal audition for my first musical in high school. The look on the directors' faces was priceless.

Though I don't recall the "sexy voice" comment ever being applied.

Yeah, and then you've got big guys like Aaron Neville with super-high voices.

Though I like doing Aaron Neville impersonations sometimes. Especially around Christmas, when I hear his Christmas songs playing all the time.

i used to know a guy that had a really deep, booming voice. his voice would resonate through the entire room, and you could hear everything he was saying without having to be next to him. it was kind of scary, especially when he laughed out loud.

When my voice is normal I have the ability to self amplify my voice to easy hear in an auditorium. Granted I don't get to use that voice very much and it tends to sound like a game show announcer but I have it available to me.

What the hell...... I seem to have gotten slightly better since last night. The raspyness is still there but I lost the bass....... I sound like Gary Busey.

Get the adblock extension for FireFox. You can block it, like I did with your avatar. (No offense, I just block any avatar I don't like watching. Like Annie's, and yours.)

The demon dog is actually quite funny in my opinion, but still, I can see how you think it's distasteful.
