My friend mentioned 'Marmite' in her latest letter. Not knowing anything about it, I did a search on it, and am glad that such adversity of a spread is not available here in the States. Not that I know of, anyway. Then I find out Aussies have their own version of it, called 'Vegemite'. Yeeech. As if they both lost their taste buds due to excessive drinking.

Personally I like Nutella, peanut butter, jam, honey and butter. As I was thinking about my favorite kinds of spread, I thought hey, I could make this a poll! So there it is.

Spread here would be something that you'd spread over your toast/bread.

Oh, and if you thought I meant spread as in:
magazine spreads, spread eagles, or otherwise things that may be a bit dirty, shame on you. The Internet has finally gotten into you.

Hmm... Nutella looks so good, I've always wanted to try it. I gotta get my mom to buy some. x_X

Anyway, I like... Peanut Butter+Honey, Tunafish Dip, Pizza Sauce (goes surprisingly well on pretty much anything)+Cheese, and... Frosting (Especially that white kind with the colored stuff in it... Not sprinkles... But... Well... Yeah. Mostly I just eat frosting on top of graham crackers... But you know. =P

Also... I like to sunny side up some eggs, then smush them with a fork and put them on bread... Don't think that counts as a spread though. ^^

Edit: Didn't notice the poll... Out of those I'd say... Cheese. Goes good on so many things. =D (Are spreads really considered entertainment... Or well... Then again... Thinking of some people... I really don't want to know the answer).

Me an my brother go through a reasonable sized jar of Nutella in about 3 or 4 days (that's when we get it). Bread tends to dissappear fairly quick when it's around, so we don't get it much :(

Nutella is still not a household word here in the States, which should change once people realize the sweet sensation that is ingesting a fair amount of Nutella.

Tuna dip. Yeeesh. I'd only eat canned tuna in its natural state, without being used in a dish. And I hope you ate those pizza sauce after they were cooked. Overall, doesn't sound very healthy/appetizing for me.

Bit of Nutella p0rn.

I'm pending between Nutella and Gouda cheese. I've never had vegemite, but I hear it's cult followings here and there. Maybe I'll go to the market and see if I can find it.

Wow, nutella looks good, but sounds like a monster pron star.

I went with the cream cheese, just because Creamed cheese is a way of life.

Vegemite is a tad harsh on the tongue. But for an Aussie delicacy, if you can find any (don't think they're outside of Australia), so the next time you come to Australia, buy some Allen's Minties

I'm all about Nutella, butter, jam, peanut butter, and the occasional bagel with cream cheese. :)
