Uhh why don't you just ask someone else to order it for you besides your parents, maybe someone in the board close to you. Also explaining it is simply getting a translation or letting your dad read Az's site.

That's a little crappy... Sometimes.
Why don't you just lie to your pops about the meaning? Unless you really want to explain it, sometimes a little lie could go a long way.
Then again, lying is bad... Take this advice at your own risk.

Tell him it's to honour the Hiroshima Holocaust.
And tell him Gaijin Smash means some Japanese way to say "Love and Peace!!"
Ah, how I love irony....
Just tell him it's an inside joke about destroying the cultural barriors between Japan and American. A minor varient of the truth but close enough that it sounds about right. However, I'm quite certain your dad will wonder why in the world you care about smashing the barriors between the japenese and the americans.
Ehh either way your funeral, probably better off just lying as it's kind of hard to really get a parent to want to popout money for that. How about instead you borrow $10 off your dad, get some poker cards and play a few games of Tex until you have enough money then hand that money over to your dad (with a receipt, make him give you a receipt, parents are quick to just keep the money or instead to use it for something else or even hand it back when it comes to purchasing something they are questionable about for their child) and tell him to purchase it on his VISA, Master, Discover, or American Express card. Should make for an interesting adventure and besides gambling is always fun.
....Show him the light; that always works for me.

I don't think it's very offensive... It's just a word for the way foreigners in Japan can get away w/ breaking certain social rules by feigning ignorance or intimidation.
And sheesh, don't lie to him. That never helps. And show some respect. :p

I'd wait until there are more designs available before buying one.
Plus, aren't the t-shirt shops closed for a day or so while az looks into it?
Give your dad a kancho from hell, i'm sure that not only will he buy you the shirt, but he'll fear future occurances of private invasions of his anal area O.o;
(i don't have a dad anymore so forgive my twisted views towards a fatherly parental figure)
