Fighting Game Thread

I remember we had one of these a good time ago, but I figured a new thread would be just fine. This is basically for anyone looking to discuss any fighting games they are playing right now. Maybe set up matches in here, too.

Right now, the only fighting game I'm really touching is Blazblue (PS3). Spend the majority of my time playing Bang, who I main. Anyone else playing this?

I play as Noel because I like to play spammy characters and OH MY GAW. I was kicking ass when I was button mashing so when I actually LEARNED how to use her, I was actually pretty good.

I recently inherited my roommate's Street Fighter 4. I still can only play as Ryu. I suck.

Finally got an X360 using my birthday money, I got SoulCalibur IV with it. Now I just need to save up another hundred for a wireless adapter! :clap:

I also fully intend on getting BlazBlue, SFIV, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. I thought about getting King of Fighters XII, but I've decided I'll skip it and wait for XIII.

As for me, I have SC4, SF4, BlazBlue, Super SF2 Turbo HD Remix, and I plan on getting Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and eventually King of Fighters 12. I plan on getting KOF12 when they fix the netplay and hopefully add new modes and characters. The US Publisher is in the talks with SNK for: first of all, better netplay (from what I hear, it's unplayable online), secondly, new modes and menus (I'm not sure but I hear that training mode doesn't even have a movelist for the characters you're using), and lastly, for downloadable content such as Mai Shiranui, Kula and her team, etc. I really was looking forward to KOF12; I'm glad I chose to get BB instead since KOF12 is basically a giant flop.

As for me, I play on the PS3. My PSN is h2orowe. I'm not on as much right now because I'm focusing more on studying Japanese than studying combos and the like, but I'm a decent Litchi player, so get at me if you want a match.

I've definitely noticed a problem of my own in playing Blazblue more - I mash inputs for fear of not pulling the move off in time. No, I don't mash projectiles or things like that, but during a combo I will input a command more than once because I'm afraid the move won't go through in time. And in playing online, I can see why I do that - my Bang Shishigami combos get blocked way too often mid-combo. And in inputting too much, I may just fuck the combo even more. Offline, this doesn't really happen unless I flub it completely.

Even so, it pisses me off that I resort to that no matter how aware I become. I guess I need to spend a lot more time just getting timing down.

I'm currently in the states until the end of the month but my PS3 is in Japan. Along with my SFIV, and MvC2 (when I get back and download it) and I'll likely be buying Blazblue while I'm here.

I'm gonna end up buying Blazblue for the 360, even though I could play with you guys. I initially learned how to play it on the 360 first, plus I have a few friends around here who own it, so, you know.

Forgot to mention I put on preorder on Tekken 6 last week, even though I'm still pissed at Namco for leaving out Kunimitsu.

Dude I get like super messed up with fighting games. I learned how to play Soul Calibur 2 in arcade, bought the ps2 version and completely sucked ass. So... I'm gonna have to stick with what I know.

I has SF4 on 360, though i'm not good really at all. The arcade stick will be worth the investment over time. i HATE fighting games on controllers.

Oh hey I just played Blazblue on the PS3 at my friends apartment.

Yeah, fun fact: while playing with the controller in the correct position; I suck. while playing with the controller upside down; I beat everyone.
