Evidently there were many small earthquakes caused by the construction of Hoover Dam. It's well known by even the most basic structural engineer who builds dams, so that China somehow didn't know...

I'm just worried about what this may lead to. There have been so many scandals in China involving the government recently that people are seriously ticked off. This could be the spark of another Tiananmen massacre (but on a larger scale).
