Well yesterday I was all hyped up; I was going back to university on Tuesday after a year of absent. Part of me was going ‘Wahoooo back to the uni, mom till be happy and the heat about me going to Japan would be off my back, for at least couple of weeks’, the other part was going ‘oo Fuck off’ and it was 5 in the morning and i was still up, watching Star Gate SG 1 season 5.

I tend to do that whenever I’ve something is big happening the next day, like first day of school after the summer vacations, job interviews, going against the board of education to grand me loan for Japan etc. Stay up all night that is.

This is when my mom comes into my room. She has gotten up for the early Morning Prayer; yeah I’m from a Muslim family, shocking isn’t it. Anyways she expresses her dislikes about be me being up this late, having skype-sex with Van and watching movies/series on the computer.

Don’t worry Van I told her that we won’t do anything until we got married and promised her 10 kids, she wanted at least 15, I was lucky to get away with only 10.

Before leaving my room she hit me with it.

Mom: you know that Ramadan has started today right?
Me: O Shit, today? Can I still eat?
Mom: Nope, your two minute too late.
*Closes the door*
Me: *Sight* but I’m little bit hunger…

I went to bed feeling little bit hungry, expecting to get up in 3 hours for War and Peace, The Course and knowing that for next 12 hours, it was going to be hell.

Boy was I wrong…

Can't you fast (correct word?) a bit longer? Say, you start fasting late, then you end the fasting late. I hope you know what I mean.

I don't think all muslim follow the Ramadan (it's that what you named it?), my mom's boss is a Muslim but he never follow the Ramadan.

Here, if you eat in the public during the Ramadan month, you will be caught and have to pay a fine.
