I'm looking for eye-candy films.
Need ideas on what to buy / download due to the fact that timewasting is pretty fun.
Anyone got any good recommendations on films that can insult my intelligence, yet inject my eyes with sugary special effect / asplosive / kung-fu fighting goodness? And by that I mean, any of those, not necessarily all in one.
And not the matrix trilogy, god I've seen those films too many times to the point where I can quote huge segments of dialogue without even looking at the TV.

Pretty much any Michael Bay movie is a given. Most Kurt Russel movies would also probably work.

Any year is fine by me ^^
Also, I'm liking the current suggestions. Michael Bay films are a great idea too!
Keep em rollin'

for some insane reason - this movie (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005UEQW/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=) is crazy expensive.
Thrasher: Are you telling me there's something running around loose in the city, ripping out people's hearts and eating them so he can take their souls back to hell?
Dick Durkin: Looks that way.
Stone: Hallelujah.
Dick Durkin: We need to get bigger guns. BIG FUCKING GUNS!

If you're into Japanese movies the Lone Wolf and Cub series is pretty much exactly what you're looking for as well.

I wouldn't place LW&C in that catagory. Koike's usual work, yes. but I think LW&C is alot better than that, especially with Direction from Kenji Misumi

I agree with you, though while I wouldn't necessarily qualify it as "trashy throwaway", it does have a baby cart that serves the same function as a Bond car, along with lots of limb severing and fountains of blood, a bit of gratuitous nudity, and plenty of fighting.

The Transporter movies would be some more good ones. Or I suppose just most Jason Statham movies.

I enjoyed the first two Transporter movies. They weren't great, but they were entertaining. I thought the third one was really bad, though. A few decent action scenes, but that was about it.

Keep playing, PCP, and you might find yourself with only RWPW to play with.
On topic posts that do not reference Twilight in any way will be tolerated for now.

Don't get me wrong. The recommendations I'm making aren't movies that I necessarily think are bad. Just check-your-brain-at-the-door action movies that, while entertaining, aren't typically noted for their complexity or depth. I thought that was kind of what mittens was looking for, maybe I'm wrong >_>

No, you were absolutely right in your recommendations. The Transporter films are definitely about the action scenes. I just got so distracted by the huge lapses in logic in the third movie, that I couldn't enjoy it as much. I would have to go back and watch the first two movie again to really compare, but I thought the action scenes in the third movie (for the most part) weren't as fun as the earlier ones.
Still, a decent movie to check your brain at the door and just watch, I guess.

Actually, Twilight really does belong on this list, and a mod trying to censor discussing because it might make fangirls cry can't change my mind on that. It IS a valid point.

I don't have a problem with you disliking Twilight and if you think Twilight belongs on this list, that's fine. The problem I had was with your continually spamming the Twilight thread, being obnoxious, ignoring warnings, being disrespectful, and in general - acting like an ass. You don't like Twilight the book or the movie. We get it.
on topic - how about Judge Dredd and Running Man
