So my Korean friend sent me this link:

http://www.dailychina.net/bbs/zboard.php?id=hot&no=11
[warning: gruesome]

Apparently it's a Chinese woman who was a practitioner of Falun Gong, and these are photos taken of her public execution. :gloomy:

Jesus, and I thought I had it bad in Japan when police go tirading their authority riding bicycles down pedestrian sidewalks. :eyepop:

Uh, forgive me if I missed something here, but since when did shooting people in public become internationally recognized as simply "a not so clean human rights record?"

Goddamn. Ultimate Fail.
I just hope those pictures are many years old and such shootings are a thing of the past...

While the public execution is indeed fucked up, somewhere deep down inside I keep thinking that the falun gong practioners probably had it coming. For those who aren't too familiar with their practices, they preach about immortality, universal magical energy, how the earth has already been destroyed XX amount of times (but most of us don't know it yet), that the remaining human survivers are actually of alien descent, and stuff like that. And while I'm all for freedom of speech, I can't help but think that they're extremely cult-like and take on a very radical approach in expressing their beliefs. It's annoying enough when I see them doing it in NYC, but to pull off that kind of shit in China is completely stupid and suicidal.

As long as they don't hurt anyone then I fail to see how having a weird belief system is justification enough to get shot in the head.

One of my biggest hopes for Obama's Presidency is that he drops China's Most Favored Nation status and gives it to someone, anyone else. Imagine if he gave it to, say, India...

The Republic of China.

My God, that'd be so amazing.

It's not. But when you have to manage a country of 1.2 billion people, it's very hard to keep everyone's beliefs in check without jeopardizing your own government, especially when it's a communist one.

“The source of some 41,500 organ transplants in China in the years 2000 through 2005 remains unexplained.
The photos say it was 4 years ago. I wonder why the authorities felt this necessary. Normally they simply harvest organs quietly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reports_of_organ_harvesting_from_live_Falun_Gong_p ractitioners_in_China). Wenyi Wang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wenyi_Wang) seems to be the one on top (http://michellemalkin.com/2006/04/21/wenyi-wang-rocks/) of this.

How's that any stranger than Mormonism or Scientology? Oh well, might as well just throw the Scientologists into a volcano.

How do we know for sure this is for Falung Gong or something? She could very well have been shot for some political crime for all we know. Not that I'm defending the Chinese government or anything, I think this sort of thing is atrocious, but it's kinda hard to know for sure.

This has been going on since they made the practice of Falun Gong illegal in China. These people then get tested and all of their genetic information is cataloged. When someone needs an organ transplant, usually a foreign with lots of cash, they will match that person to one of the imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners to harvest their organs. I heard about this years ago and it's hardly news. During the protests of the DNC in Denver and the RNC in St. Paul there were people protesting our government's support of China (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGqLlJ4_ick) and how they aren't doing anything to put a stop to China's terrible practice of imprisoning people for the purpose of harvesting their organs for cash. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaWfVO2Yqwg)

If they believe in Immortality then are they not scare of being harvested? Not that I'm defending it but maybe that's how China sees it...

Or they just want tons of cash for their organs.

We can't, all it said in the sign she was wearing was "murderer".

I saw these photos in another forum awhile back and it was captioned that she murdered her husband. Cant remember where I read that though.

You can find them if you search for her name.

I find the source equally dubious, though. Just some web forum postings.
