Does anyone else play this? It's quite interesting and you can really see where your political views lay (if you play it seriously, and not trying to be the best psychotic dictator possible)! My "corrupt" nation ended up becoming my best nation out of the two that I have. ;_;

Every time I play it, I end up getting the best in 2 categories (political freedoms and economy I think), and get the second-best in the third, and it pisses me off to no end. There were also a massive lack of issues the last time I played.

Also. I want to be called The Brotherhood Of _________ (haven't got a name yet) or The New North American Republic (A merger of the U.S, Mexico and Canda after WW3. LOL) . But I can't seem to find where you can name your nation. All I see is the "Republic, Empire, Holy empire. etc.".

So.... How do you give your nation a completely original name?

Edit: Cookie to anyone who can figure out where I drew the inspirations for my nations name.

Edit#2: I just made a test nation..... i see you can't choose where you wantto place your nation? That sucks.

Edit#3: i just realized that you also can't create a unique story/backround for your nation. Aww :(.

Under your nation's name in the sidebar, click settings. And then click, "Do you want to make your own flag?" or something.
There you can upload a custom flag.
To change your nation's name, go to settings.
I haven't gotten far enough to know how to completely change the nation's name to whatever the hell you want (including what's not in the drop-down menu, either).
No, you can't choose where you are initially, but you can move your nation wherever the hell you want to after. Different regions, etc. (:
And yeah, you can't create an original backstory. The story is chosen based upon your decisions on certain issues. It's kind of a neat code, actually.

moo: There's a bunch of new issues and Max Barry is coming out with a NationStates 2. It's going to be very widespread... but I think there is going to be a small, initial fee to play the game.

I finally made one! :). And since I can't wright my own backstory I might as well right it here.

So how did I come about making this nation? Kind of easy. I visit another forum called "The Valley Of The 33 Soldiers". It's a very small and very private forum that me and my friends made to try and keep in touch with one another..... And yes, there are 33 of us. Anyways, yeah I made this nation based on us and they got a riot out of it :D.

So yeah try and imagine the senate/congress being us 33, lol.

To link us to your nation, at the bottom of the main frame where it describes your nation (when you're logged in) there should be something that says, "To link others to your nation give them this link: [insert url here]"

I seem to remember that this game had far too few issues to deal with. Whilst it was quite fun at the beginning, because the answer you chose didn't always give the desired effect, after a little while you satrted to encounter the same issues again and again. In the end I just got tired of it.

Well I just updated my Nationstate by putting in a new flag.

I thought I would have fun with this so I'll break down the symbolism of the flag.... So yeah, I'm bvasing all this stuff off the actual information of my nation. haha.

The Sword: Represents the required military service of the nation. As well as the nation's military might and it's history.

The Gears: Represents the industrial, technological and economic stability of the nation. Everything relies on one another, and when one fails.... All fail.

The 33 Stars: Represents the 33 soldiers who founded the nation. And the 33 of them who came to govern it as the senate/congress. There will always be 33. No more. No less.

Big thanks goe's out to Matth for making me this flag :D

PS: Everyone with a custome flag should explain what it meens. It makes the game more fun :D

Well it was my understanding that they were considering Nation States 2, with war, and many options and make a real world off of it. However, with that, all the lands would start over again, and it would cost such and such a month, basically like an MMORPG. If they did that I suppose I would pay to play it, but the price couldn't be THAT high. Like atmost 3$/mo, since it's a mud and really a full game.
