5-7 hours usually. I need about 9 to be truly rested since I move a lot during sleep, which keeps my body from actually getting much rest. Just my luck that my muscles don't relax in sleep.

Weekends... 8-11 hours. Just thought I'd let ya'll know.

I almost always get exactly 6 hours... if I get any more than that, I'm groggy as hell the rest of the day and end up falling asleep upright (>_<*)

It really depends on whats going on... In port, underway, duty, training cycle... etc...

In port off duty, 6 hours max... duty day in port 3-4 hours... underway 0 - 6, its pretty often I work 48 hours strait, get 5 hours and work another 24...

During training cycle last year I averaged about 4 - 6 a WEEK

That pretty much sums my day up too, except make that 5.5-6.5.

Oh do I remember cross country. My muscles ache just thinking about how much running that really is. How far do you typically run per day?

As for sleep, my earliest class starts after 1:00, so I can typically get about 7 hours before I kick my lazy ass out of bed. Being a senior college student I know what it's like to get little to no sleep every night. Trust me, I don't mind 7 hours a night at all.

During school days, maybe 3-6 hours, though I may take a nap every now and then, if lucky enough. So on weekends, it's not strange for me to wak up when the Sun's on the west side of the horizon. I'm a totally night person with sleeping problems, mainly insomnia.

I would have to say at least 5 miles a day, cause warmup is 1.5 miles alone. I actually have a race tomorrow, 2.5 miles.

I'm lucky if my body ever shuts off at all. I usually just flop around in bed and get some rest in-between. Minus sleep pills, less than 5 hours.

I can't stay asleep for more than 4 to 5 hours at a time. I can wake up, do something for about 10 to 15 minutes, and then sleep for another 4 or 5 hours, but never in one long stretch.

This comes in handy though, because I don't really need that much sleep at night, and I wake up in time to get to the gym when it is opening at 5 a.m., plus, it makes an hour or two nap in the afternoon/evening very enjoyable.

I remember this real jerk of a coach that would basically run the kids into the ground. More often than not, we would run a mile to the nearest park, do 10-12 mile long loops, then run back and hit the weight room. On easier days we did do shorter routes, but the range was anywhere from 8-15 miles per day.

Well NYC lol. I only joined track last april or so, which is a great hinderence to me, as I am already a junior. My first and only JV 2.5 mile race so far gave me a 17:20(as coach tells me). My goal for tomorro is to break 17 and go for low 16s.

edit-no sorry I have not. I am nor really familiar with any highschools out of my city. I run for Stuyvesant.

Bingo

Ran cross country in highschool as well, have no clue how much I usually ran though because our coach always ALWAYS lied to us about how far we were going to be running... like one time at cross country camp...

He told us we were going to run this loop that was about 7 miles and that was going to be it for the day after warming up and everything. Around halfway through the loop I saw a map and it said the loop was 14 miles. So whatever he said we were going to run for the day, we could usually multiply that by about 2 or 3, and then figure in a warm up and cooldown, which the cooldown would usually be around a mile or 2.

Now I'm on the 3 mile a year plan... (joke for anyone in the military)

Once, after a exhausting trip where I did not get enough sleep, coupled with the shift in time, I slept through an entire day.

Oh and I think I tend to sleep more than 12 hours when I have a morning class I really want to skip. Too bad I've used up my excused/unexcused absences.

Wait, what's sleep?

I stay up for a day or two at a time and get a couple restless hours of sleep. So maybe 5-8 hours a week tops.

I voted 6.5 since I usually get between 6 and 7 hours, depending on what mood I'm in.

I don't like sleep too much, but at some point, people just go offline, well theres always online games, there are always people on those...Bad TV shows come on, around then my bed starts to look real comfy, I sleep like 6 hours i guess. But recently with the heat my room is about close to 100 degrees now so i'll be sleeping downstairs again.

6, but sometimes it's hard to get sleep when you have a boyfriend who won't leave you alone.

Now, 6.5 hours.
Starting next week, I might get less sleep as my classes are starting early at 7a.m. & 7.30a.m.! Luckily, I'm still able to take nap in the afternoon.

I average 6.5 hours. I have a habit of waking up at odd times, meandering for an hour, and going back to rest. Some days I'll get 5, while others will be 9 or more, if I don't have classes. It's my fault, though; online at odd hours. Yeah.

Hmm about 6.5 hours on average. Sometimes less than four somtimes like 10 (my day off). :D

I usually only get about 5 hours or so a night, even though i'm in bed for like 8 hours. I'll go to bed around 1 o'clock and get a few hours sleep, i'll then randomly wake up, lay around for an hour then go back to sleep until aabout seven.

I usually get about 5-6 hours sleep a day.
I have to be leaving the house at 8am, for a walk to school, so I need to be awake by 7:30.

However, I tend to stay up late at night, just messing around on the net, often untillike 2:30 to 3am odd.

So I don't get much sleep, but that's OK because I have caffine.

Generally, when I do sleep, its around 5 hours. I have a relatively harsh case of insomnia, so my sleep schedule is random and my rests are few and far between. It gives me plenty of time to focus on meditation, reflection, writing, and various other tasks, however. Most people waste a third of their lives sleeping. I will only have wasted probably a fifth when this life is over.

School nights I get around 5.5 to 6 hours of sleep. I usually go to bed around 11:30PM, but I don't fall asleep until 12:00AM and sometimes not until 1:00AM (one of the restless nights where you can't quite calm down). On weekends and holidays, I almost always get 8 or more hours.

I love sleep! I sleep as much as possible. I've always been that way though. I'd leave parties early just so I could go home and sleep. I'd not do my homework and go to sleep.
My friends thought I was nuts.. until they'd get in my bed, then they knew why. I don't make sleeping a priority, but I love my bed. It's really comfortable and condusive to sleeping. I've always considered a bed to be the most important piece of furniture that one can buy and I've always tried to make mine as comfortable as possible, because getting enough sleep is really important. Anyway, sleeping is good, I think more people should do it ;) !

I love sleep!

^ She said it.

I'm insane, though, I push my body beyond all resonable boundaries, so my sleeping pattern is all fucked up. Lately I've been waking up before I want to and been unable to get back to sleep.

Maybe there's a lesson in that story, but I'm too insane to find it. :D

I sleep over 8 hours every night. I say night, but I tend to fall asleep around 4-5am. getting up in the afternoon is fun. You get to enjoy the best part of the day (midday) as soon as you wake up. I really hate dawn, so cold and dark.

Of course it plays havoc with my lecture schedule but morning lectures aren't all that important and lab is always in the afternoon...

I average on about four to six per night. Hopefully.

Then there are times where I stay up all hours talking to my boyfriend in some way or another. Yay for lack of sleep and a booming presence of fatigue.

I usually get between six and seven hours of sleep on the weekdays, but most of the time it's closer to six, so that's what I voted for. My school starts early (7:40) and ends late (3:30), and advanced courses take a lot of time out of your day for homework and the like, so getting 7 hours of sleep is a pretty good (although not too irregular) night.

I wouldn't mind not getting that much sleep if I didn't have to get up on Sundays, too.

But I'm kind of thankful--I get more sleep than a lot of you guys do. :P

All you guys seem to sleep so little. I was always told that spending around 7 1/2 hours in bed is the optimal. You get half of your sleeping rest in the last hour of sleep, if you only sleep for 5-6 hours then you miss out on a huge benefit by missing the final hour or two.

Personally sleeping is my favourite part of the day, you can just forget about every pressure you have and relax :D
