Someone put up a link to a bunch of Japanese commercials around here recently, and one of them was 24-themed... Kiefer was in it and everything o,0 So I'm pretty sure it's pretty well known right now.

The show is fairly big, yes.

Once, in the sannensei's class, they were supposed to write about a TV show or something. I was walking around looking at the work in progress, and one girl's entry caught my eye...

"Do you know the TV show 24? I like to watch this show. It is always very exciting and fun. And Jack Bauer is a very manly hero."

If at all possible, I would have given her an A++ for the rest of her academic career.

I told her I was a huge fan of the show, and we had a 24-bonding moment.

A few months later, she ran up to me all excited one day....

Her: I watched Season 3! It was incredible.
Me: Wasn't it? What an awesome show.
Her: Yeah! But, I had a question...
Me: Sure....
Her: Well, at the end, Jack cried, right? Why?
Me: Ah...well...you know Jack had to go through a lot right? An addiction to drugs...meeting his wife's killer...having to chop off his partner's hand...Jack is a hero, but it all just crashed down on him at the end.
Her: ...Ah! I see! Wow. 24 is the greatest show ever made.
Me: ...You are the smartest 15-year old girl I've ever met, and I love you.
Her: When will Season 4 come out?
Me: Well, it's already airing in America! I'm watching it now by downloading it.
Her: Oh wow! What's it about?
Me: You know I can't tell you that.
Her: Right. Oh, I guess I'll just have to wait then. It's so exciting!

It always brings me great joy to have a pleasant discourse with a fellow member of the Bauer Nation.

Ah well, it was good the first time, so this one should be good". I don't think they got away with it in the third season, and the break between seasons 3 and 4 was worth it - I'm hooked again.

Season three was probably the most sporadic/random and all over the place season of "24" thus far. At least Kim Bauer was not too damn annoying in this season.

Season two easily had some of the best scenes ever, like George "The Mason" Mason actually talking Jack out of suicide. Also the first time Jack Bauer died for our sins.

Azrael, I read all of those recaps you did along with voodazz's; you guys should publish it. Or hell, make your class translate it.

They show 24 here on Fox Japan. Last time I caught an ep they were about half way thru season 2 but season 4 is coming out on DVD soon. Everytime my students ask me what my favorite show is and I tell them that its 24 I mostly get blank stares. But sometimes there are a few students (or even the teacher) who know what I am talking about and we proceed to gush about how cool Tony is XDD

Sweet more Tony fans! He's the freakin man. 24 is possibly one of the best tv shows ever, tied for first in my list with Lost. Although I really wonder whats gonna happen in season 5... they are making one right? I do run across someone saying there's a new one once in a while, but with the way season 4 plays out I really wonder what could be up next??

I don't know, I never got hooked onto 24. It's on when I'm at rehersal for Cats (and every other show I've ever been in)... so that could be the reason.

I can't really remember if I've seen some episodes from season 1 or 2. But at that time I thought it was just a stupid TV show. But I got hooked since last year(season 3, I watched it twice on tv o_O). I think we're at season 4 now here in Holland, I'm not sure. Is season 4 about the minister who gets kidnapped? If it is, then yeah, I'm watching season 4 now.
I really want to see season 1 and 2 now that people are saying that those are much better than season 3!!!
Oh yeah, Tony Almeida and Jack Bauer are my favourite characters :D

I don't understand why nobody EVER listens to Bauer?!! He's the best agent of CTU! Like in that season with the Cyprus tape thing. Why didn't anyone believe it was fake? Only the president believed him. And at the end it's like " oh yeah Bauer was right after all". And also in season 4, nobody believed that that muslim guy(who commits suicide later on) will bring CTU to the hideout where the pilotician and his daughter are being kept.
Oh yeah: Palmer's ex-wife is the most annoying character ever!!! Where is Michelle by the way?

Its amazing how much kim doesnt pay attention, i wanted her to get shot dead soooooooooo many times.

While I've never so much as watched an episode of 24 (I tend to stay away from all broadcast television), I figure most of the people here would get a kick out of this (plus, P-Boi owns). Oh, and spoilers ahoy, I'm guessing.
