Ten points to whoever can find the huge mistake. (besides the obvious mistake of making a live action Akira with Leo DiCaprio set in "New Manhattan")

I'd much prefer New New York.

Also...lol @ the article for not doing it's research. It posted a picture of Akira from Rival Schools instead of from the actual source material.

And there is nothing about DiCaprio starring in it. His company is producing the film.

I would say the mistake is that it didn't originate in 1988 (movie did, not the manga)... I don't recognize the picture either, but I was never as obsessed with the movie as a lot of people are.

As long as it's better than the laughable "Fist of the North Star" live-action, it's one step up.

KANEDA!

If they keep that name in there a lot of Americans who have never seen the anime are going to go "why did they call him Canada?" -_-;;

I know I'm going to be disappointed by this film. God damn. *sigh*

What's with America taking japanese anime films and making live-action versions? Is there like... a new trend in bad movie making?

shit, at first I thought that was an image of skull man (some ishinomori shotaro classic that got remade last year)...but yeah, big goof on their part.

It'll be forgivable for as long as they re-title it and simply use Akira as a base-concept, as copying it outright would never work (due to inverses in anime and real-life acting). I can see some awesome things coming out of an inspired film, but nothing too fantastic from a translation.

No, just the same Bad movie making trend we've had for nearly 20 years.

I remember when Peters was doing Batman I had to put a computer in his office. Bastard is so illiterate - it makes me cry.

I think it'll be a decent flick.

I've liked L-Cap's roles as of late.The Departed and in Blood Diamond,dude is an action movie star,and shouldn't be in sappy romance flicks(All this provided that he will be in the movie).

I think it could play out V for Vendetta-ish which IIRC didn't follow all of the source material from the comic books,but still turned out to be a good movie.

There's a better chance of Akira being decent. Dragon Ball is going to bomb, which makes me sad because it's one of my favorite shows.

That because Akira is pheasable in the real world. Dragonball is not.
