So basically the main character, Lars Lindstrom (Ryan Gosling), is a loner who has moved out of the house, where he lived with his brother, into the garage. He tries to avoid social situations as much as possible and lacks a female companion. So one day his co-worker shows him an internet site where female dolls can be bought, and little to the audiences knowledge he buys one. Then the story escalates form there.
I brought up this movie, because I remember someone posting last Summer about people who bought actually owned these so called Real Looking Sex Dolls.
The movie however doesn't really focus on the sexual uses of the doll, but more one the interactions between Lars and the doll it's self, implying that this movie isn't really a comedy.
Surprising thing is, the website where the doll was bought in the movie is actually a real business. It's called NOT SAFE FOR WORK realdoll.com
