Since it hasnt come up yet, decided to start one, albeit a little late.
Im just amazed the giants won. I was rooting for the pats, but I have to admit thats probably been one of the closest games in years, but the pats just werent at their best tonight.
Im more amazed at the plays that should have been, especially in the last quarter. I.E., the interceptions that should have been, Eli Manning supposed to be sacked and then somehow magically getting out of it.
All in all, the giants deserved the win, I'm just sorely dissapointed

Brady can't handle being touched back there. It's fine when he's got the pocket, all nice and warm. They infiltrate and he's all screwed up.

Come on now...it had more to do with Giants kicking ass on defense than the Pats not being at their best.

Yeah, the Giants D just balled all over that O-line.
Eli is still a mediocre quarterback at best and didn't deserve the MVP.

I dislike that little kicky "I have to pee." thing that Eli does sometimes.
Completely irrelevant, really, just thought I'd throw that out there.

I was cheering against those who cheered for the Patriots (AKA, bandwagoners). SO ready to rub it in their faces.
Defensive play by the Giants was the key to their win. Eli's moves to pass it off at the 30 (or so) second mark was truly memorable. I thought he was a goner from then, but he pulled a Gwen Stefani and made the Sweet Escape.

If he doesn't eventually move into the business of selling gasoline, he will have wasted that name.

lol, such a common insult! All pats fans = bandwagoners! I feel sorry for those guys who were around in the Bledsoe years... they got the joy of cheering for a lulz-worthy team and still get called bandwagoners! Besides, pretty much everyone that wanted the Pats to lose were bandwagoners too, they just happened to jump on the "Anti-Patriot" bandwagon instead.
I'm not happy the Pats lost, I don't like having to live out my season's dreams through another team. They beat my team and odds are they probably beat yours too. I don't have anything to cheer about in them losing.

Not necessarily true on the anti-bandwagon idea. The reason being that come next season, I am not going to be a fan of the Giants. It's nothing personal, it's just not my team. I rooted for them to destroy souls this game. This doesn't make me their fan, just an enemy to the opposing side.

Uhhhh, exactly. I never said people jumped on the Giants bandwagon, everyone just wanted the Patriots to lose. Most of the people happy that the Giants won aren't even Giants fans, they were anti-Patriot. I find it funny that people criticize people for suddenly cheering for the Patriots now that they're good yet turn around and cheer against the Patriots for pretty much the same reason.

I am a Colts fan. I've never liked them regardless. I don't care about others' motives in this. I am anti-Pats and Ravens. So, I am always against them. It's really about getting a team and sticking with it. Those who had to endure the losing seasons don't want someone getting involved just because they start winning. Where were they in the losing seasons? That's the mentality that goes along with that.
In regards to not being a Giants fan, you're right. However, as the saying goes, an enemy to my enemy is my friend.
Edit: Also, plenty of Pats fans did this very thing against the Colts when they played the Bears. So, we can't expect mercy here. :)

Divisional rivalries always leave reason for hate :p But other than that, I don't really see why too many people have an opinion. I could even see there being the standard AFC-NFC rivalry, but that wasn't it. It was just "LOL PATRIOTS MUST LOSE!".
I'm a Jags fan. I wanted the Pats to lose too, only not in the Super Bowl :p

This is why I love the internet Chuckles.
If I say I'm a Pats fan, people say I'm only a fan because they're winning.
If I say I'm an anti-Pats fan, people say I'm only anti-Pats because they're winning.
If I say I've always been a Pats fan, or that I've always been anti-Pats, people say "prove it."
The hell? I just watch the Pats because I honestly believe they're a great team. Even when they were losing, they were a great team. I will probably always be a Pats fan. That's just how it is. If I have to prove to somebody that I like the Pats, fuck it. I don't care about your opinion enough. I like the Pats, and if that's not good enough, too bad.
Who cares if the Pats are gaining a new fanbase because they're winning? A true Pats fan won't care about other Pats fans - they'll only care about the Pats. If the new fanbase comes and goes, it shouldn't bother the rest of us. "Oh no, people are cheering for our favorite team. They weren't cheering for them before they were good, so now we have to yell at them and say 'where were you?'"
You know what? I hope an Old Pats fan goes to a New Pats fan and asks him where he was when the Pats were losing. And I hope to god the new Pats fan says "Over in Green Bay."

Seeing the Patriots lose gave me a grin from ear to ear. Not a Giants fan, but I hate the Patriots. They better watch themselves, too. Looks like some congressman is coming a knocking.

After this utter disappointment, I suggest we find Bledsoe wherever he's hiding, and get Parcells back to return us to mediocrity. Having a mediocre QB and head coach clearly worked for the Giants.

Packers fan here. I wanted the Giants to win, so them beating the Pack wasn't for nothing. I was pleased.

There is no problem with you being a Pats fan (well, there is but that's because of who I like :D) or being anti-Pats or anti-any NFL team. That's cool. However, you mentioned what I was pretty much trying to say. It's cool if you are a fan, new, old, whatever. That's not the issue. It's when you see people split when your team only has two wins. Then, a season later, will ditch that team for another winning team (always seeming like the hardcore fan of the current...I know someone like this and it irks me).
If those people stay fans of the team, they are the real fans. If they go, "Oh look, Lions are 8-0, I am their fan, now...bye-bye, Pats" that's the problem. It's not like someone will kill themselves over it, it's just meh.
Mastiker, I agree about not having to prove anything to anyone. I don't know if that happened in this thread, but I agree. In the end, it's just a game. One of my better friends is a hardcore Pats fan...from Indianapolis, no less. Of course we give each other shit, but that's all.

It's because that's how it goes. Last year, the Bears' boards were filled with, "We hope you kick the Colts butts" and this and that from Pats fans. They were knocked out and had no problem wishing us ill the entire time. Of course, that's what rivalries are about on the fan's side. It's bitter at first, but people get over it...not like I got a Superbowl ring out of their win...yet.

I can see why Pats and Colts fans would hope the other team loses, there's a rivalry there.
But I don't see why Suckhawk fans bother caring.

Whatever, the pats already had an amazing season, but it was obvious their luck was starting to wain in the last few games. It was exciting at the idea of a perfect season, but cant really complain at getting what we got.
And I agree with mastiker when I say I dont really give a bumfuck whether you believe its old or new, I like the pats because Im a pats fan. They lose, they lose, fuck it. They're the team I root for anyway.

You may all refer to me now as "Your Royal Prophetess."
I really know very, very little about football, but I like going to Superbowl parties and stuff just cuz they are fun and a chance to hang out with friends and such. Anyway, as soon as I arrived at my friends' party, prior to the game even beginning, I had a sudden premonition, and told everyone that an astounding event would occur within the last two and a half minutes of the game, and that the Giant's would win in a crazy turn of events. My friends laughed and mocked me. . .BUT GUESS WHO WAS RIGHT. IT WAS ME.
I should have bet money on that game, clearly.

Steve Spagnuolo is now officially worth $3.1 million dollars, according to the Jason Garrett benchmark for overpaid assistant coaches. :)

I rooted for the Pats when they were just starting their streak. They were a team that wasn't full of overpaid stars, they looked like normal people who really enjoyed the game, and won because they were a good team and played their hearts out. I did not feel like that was the case this season... The other teams in the league somehow let them get the best lineup of athletes and there was absolutely no reason they should have lost.
