I was contemplating making a thread for this, good call. This movie's gonna be amazing, your right about Ledger. Its one of those things where you wouldn't necessarily think he would based on what he's done, but he's definitely made it his own in an awesome way.

<3 Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, and the new Batman movies. Really looking forward to it

Really? The first two were pretty solid movies.

I just realized that they DID pick Maggie Gyllenhall to take over Holmes' role! AHHHH!!! This movie is going to be so much more awesome than Batman Begins. I hope I'm in the states when it comes out, but I probably won't be ;_;. Maybe it'll come out in Japan... though I've kinda never seen a movie here.

DC FTW.

Edit:

~~Really? The first two were pretty solid movies.

Well I mean, they were okay, but they were more like a parody of the batman comics than an actual good movie about the batman comics to me. They were pretty damn funny at times, especially with Nickelson playing Joker, but yeah, to me they were kind of just a "OMGBATMAN MWAAAA" type of movie. I'm more into serious comic-adaptions such as X-Men and Batman Begins.

Are we talking about the same movies?

The ones I'm talking about are the first two with Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as the joker. Then the 2nd one which had Danny Devito as the Penguin and Michelle Phifer as Catwoman. Both of which were typical dark Tim Burton style movies.

You seem to be describing the absolutely horrible Joel Schumacher directed movies that consisted of colorful lights, Jim Carrey is the Riddler and batsuits with nipples.

I mean Batman Forever was somewhat watchable but Batman & Robin was just awful.

I liked the first 2, they were good in their own way, but still not even in the same league as Batman Begins to me. I used to like all the Batman movies when I was a little kid... Now, I can't even comprehend how unfathomably bad the last 2 were.

I don't really compare the two to the Batman Begins Universe I simply leave it as:

Good Batman Movies:
Batman
Batman Returns
Batman Mask of the Phantasm (Animated but it was awesome)
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight (I alreadly know this)

Not so good-Horrible Batman Movies:
Batman Forever
Batman & Robin

I agree, the first two weren't really doing the same thing as the new ones, but I just prefer the style of the new ones to the old.

I remember watching Mask of the Phantasm as a kid, and I liked it, but as can be seen with my former opinion on the other Batman movies, I don't trust my opinion from then until I see it again.

Well it's animated so you tend to be a little forgiving with that. Plus it was all involved in what is the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) which is pretty damn cool in itself.

I saw Phantasm again recently, it was still awesome. I'm impressed that they got away with showing a dead body in that movie.

This movie is going to be so very badass, a fact which is a universal constant.
Also, speaking of Schumacher that bastard, I was shocked to see that his newest movie to date, 'The Number 23" was so good. It's like he went back to film school or something. Or actually tried.
I heard a rumor that the last installment of the Batman/Superman franchise will be a team-up movie? Anyone hear corroboration?

You forgot Batman (66). Best Batman movie ever?

I'd much prefer... oh man... they're still open to this, so it could happen...

Okay. You know the whole "Poison Ivy comes and controls Superman, so the only one powerful enough to stop him is Batman" thing? Yeah. THAT WOULD MAKE AN AMAZING THIRD MOVIE FOR BOTH. I mean... seriously. Showing it from the perspective of both Batman and the possessed Superman... I tingle from excitement just thinking about it!

Haha wow. I need to get laid :karate:

Yeah, I mixed them all up. I don't think I ever even watched the Burton movies and I looked some info up on them after I thought I was mistaken about Jim Carrey playing the Joker.

Anyway, I am interested in seeing those two. I love Tim Burton. I just remember I saw one of the Carrey movies about 10 years ago and it sucked.

The animated series (the original one) is where it's at.

I swear that is one of the best movies to watch on shrooms
Also the Indian Superman

If they ever made a movie with Shatner, West, and Walken, the universe would fucking explode
