While I'm aware that the measures put in place in the Hawke/Keating era ensured a budding boom would turn into a continued boom, I'm not sure about this Rudd character. He seems to be the unions' puppet, his deputy is a childless man-hater, his treasurer doesn't have much in the way of economic credentials... I don't know. I can't help but get the feeling that this new government has been cobbled together by an outsider with only a very basic working knowledge of politics.

I mean, at least John Howard was opposition leader and treasurer for a while there.
