View Full Version : Rome
I normally don't spend much time watching stuff on HBO, but Rome kicks ass! Probably one of the best show on air right now, it has everything- sex, violence, schemes, politics...
I know not everyone has HBO, I can only catch it while I'm at school as it is offered at every dormitories. But if you do have HBO, please make an effort to catch it.
Anyone else watching the show?
I watched like 2 or 3 episodes.
It is very interesting, but it seems that they throw in the sex just for the sake of there being sex in the episodes(unless those scenes hold some importance of which I do not know).

It looks pretty interesting, but I'm waiting for a while until the show is almost over and then I'm going to watch them all on HBO On Demand. That way I won't have to wait week to week. That's what I did for Entourage and Six Feet Under this year and it worked out pretty well.
Well, they do throw in the sex because they can. Besides, Romans were anything BUT sexual creatures, which adds to the Christians saying Rome fell apart because they were just going after their desires...
And for those who have HBO on demand, lucky you. I'd get on with Deadwood if I had that.

Ahem, the internet? My other favorite show is Arrested Development, and for last season I couldn't catch it every week as I would have some conflicts in my schedule. Never fear! Internet is on the rescue, aided by its sidekick BitTorrent...

...Wait... Romans weren't sexually overcharged hedonistic sycophants? And doesn't that sentence contradict itself? You say that Romans weren't sexual creatures and then you say it adds to the Christian belief that Rome fell apart because they WERE slaves to their desires.

Golly gee, I'm the one who usually plays the grammar nazi. I meant to say nothing BUT. anything-nothing, got that mixed up.
If I learnt a lesson from my days of being an honorary member of the grammar gestapo back in high school, going after and correcting people's misspelled words and grammar misuse doesn't improve your SAT scores. So lay off of me already...

Ok My satalite messed up before the 4th episode. What happens I need to know. I'm so addicted on this show.
There's the HBO website with the recap for all the episodes up to this point. I could do a recap, but just watch the show once you get cable on, or if desperate, search BitTorrent for it. HBO shows previous epidoes quite often as well.

I wasn't being a grammar Nazi. You confused me and I wanted to know what your real point was...
