....Are you talking about the show in the article? That sounded more like showcasing cool stuff from other countries than treating people like playthings. National Geographic does it all the time. Granted, National Geographic doesn't usually fly people overseas, but still, they interact, and they make TV shows about unusual cultural things and whatnot.

Years ago I saw a show where they flew some guy out from the middle of a jungle, called him Janguru-san, and basically delighted in showing him electricity, convincing him to climb telephone poles by telling him they were trees, etc. It's standard let's-amaze-the-primitives-with-our-unique-Japanese-technology fare. A show where they can sit and say "Yeah, we saw how you did it, you can't fool us" for once is a breath of fresh air.

So I guess the lesson learned here is don't performed magic tricks infront of a Masai audience because they will be very disappointed.
